SUPERINTENDENT MESSAGE
Inspired by Christ on a Journey to Encounter, Nurture, and Serve.
Inspiré par Dieu dans une Aventure à Découvrir, Grandir, et Servir.
February 3 - 7, 2025
Good morning,
Cynicism is contagious; so is hope.
(Richard Curwin, 2013)
As we move forward on our journey of hope, optimism stands hand in hand with it. Take a moment—now or sometime this week—to reflect on the most optimistic staff member or administrator you’ve known. What qualities made you see them as someone with a positive outlook on life? What set them apart? And how did being around them make you feel? Let this reflection inspire your journey of hope and positivity.
Blessings,
Kathleen Finnigan, Superintendent

January 29 was a fantastic day for innovation in education in RDCRS, as we hosted a dynamic workshop with our partners from ATLE (Alberta Technology Leaders in Education) focused on empowering schools to design their own esports programs.
Educators from across the province gathered at our division office to learn how creating a thriving esports program can benefit their student's collaboration, communication and cognitive skills. The workshop covered everything, including the first steps on how to to build a program to where to find local and national competitions for students. Like all curricular and extracurricular activities in our school knowledge and passionate coaches and mentors are key to our student's success.
We believe that esports offers incredible potential for students to be engaged development of STEM skills, and learn teamwork in a cooperative environment. We are thrilled to continue our growth of this exciting movement in education.
