Henry Happenings
April 1st, 2024
Principal Message
We hope you had a great long weekend with your families. Please remember there is no school for students on Tuesday, April 2 due to it being election day. Remember many of our local schools are used as polling places and for safety reasons school is canceled on this day. Please remember to vote!
Tomorrow is Blues Spirit Wear Day! We look forward to Henry Night with the St. Louis Blues tomorrow evening on April 1.
Also, as we plan ahead for next year, if you have a child that will be entering Kindergarten in 2024-2025 please register as soon as possible. It is imperative that we know how many students will be in our entering Kindergarten class so we can prepare with the correct number of staff. If you have questions about Kindergarten registration please click here for more information.
Keep reading below to learn more about attendance letters, book fair, solar eclipse, and so much more.
Go Bulldogs!
Sincerely,
Dr. Jodi Oliver

Attendance Letters Coming Soon for Students with More Than 10 Absences
A reminder that the district asks us to send out standardized attendance letters for students with more than 10 absences. Our school goal is for all students to be present at least 95% of the time, which equates to fewer than 8 absences over the course of the school year. These letters offer each family an up-to-date understanding of their child’s attendance to date this school year.
We understand that illnesses happen and some appointments can only be made during school hours, but we appreciate your support toward your child achieving 95% or higher school attendance for the school year.

Notes from Nurse Munch
Spring allergy season seems to be starting a little early this year. If you would like your child to have allergy medication on hand in the nurse's office, it needs to be brought into school in the original container with a signed Medication Authorization Form, which can be found here.

Monday, April 8th is the Solar Eclipse. Parkway will be providing Eclipse Shades for all students and staff that meet the ISO and CE standards for safe viewing. If you do not want your student to participate, click here. Submit a new response for each student.
How can I help prepare my Parkway student to view the eclipse?
- Review this Safety Presentation with your child.
- Watch this short video about safely viewing an eclipse and discuss with your student
- Practice properly putting on eclipse shades as shown in the video using 3D movie glasses or sunglasses. (Be sure to do this inside or in a location where you will not be looking directly at the sun.)
