MMS is All Heart!

So you know, the MMS office staff and administrative team is working from 8 - 4:00 on Mon - Thurs each week this summer (excluding national holidays & vacation days), so please let us know if you need any help or have questions about next school year. The next MMS Community Newsletter will be shared in mid-July so parents can know what to expect from the start of the 2024-25 school year.

We invite all parents to participate with our Red Imp students & staff at the End-of-Year Award Ceremonies for each grade level. This is our school's chance to recognize the awesome contributions from our students this year - academically, athletically, shining in elective classes, and for displaying strong character / the HEART of a Red Imp!

Please note that not all students will receive awards and this is not a promotion ceremony. All end-of-year awards ceremonies will be held in the MMS gym.

6th grade: Tuesday, May 21st @ 8:30am

7th grade: Tuesday, May 21st @ 10:00am

8th grade: Wednesday, May 22nd @ 8:30am

Parents will have been contacted by MMS staff if their child is receiving a specific award from a class or team. However, because grades are still being finalized, the A/B Honor Roll & Principal's Cabinet parents will not be notified. Finally, if parents wish to sign out students after the EOY Awards Ceremonies, office staff will be present at tables by the gym door for a quick sign-out, if parents so choose.

We can't wait to see Red Imp families join us in celebrating our hard-working Red Imps on a truly memorable year!

MMS will be holding its annual Powder Puff football game next Tuesday, May 21st from 1 - 3:00pm. Parents and guardians are able to join us to cheer their students on! However, if you plan to attend please keep the following in mind:

• Please bring your own lawn chair or blanket to watch; our bleachers will be filled with students!
• We will have the back parking lot closed off so parents will need to either park in the front of the building or in the rear area where buses pick up.
  
• We will be following the same rules as our athletic competitions: spectators will need to bring a clear bag/purse and they will be subject to going through the metal detectors for safety purposes.
• Concessions will be on sale for students during the event, so students may ask for cash to buy snacks and goodies while they watch!
• While it is a free event, the MMS Celebrations Committee will be accepting donations to help us support our school-wide incentives and end-of-quarter celebrations for next year. You can donate at the event when you walk in, if you so choose.
• If you plan to check your student out of school early (before the normal end of school, 2:55pm), all students will need to be signed out in the front office.

The 2023-24 Imps' Tale Yearbook is scheduled for delivery next week! Parents, click this link for a “sneak peek” of our 2022-2023 yearbook. All students who have purchased a yearbook will receive it next Tuesday, May 21st.

Make sure your student gets a copy! Please go to www.jostens.com to get one of the few remaining yearbooks by Friday, May 16th. If you are unsure whether you purchased a book, you can call Jostens at 877-767-5217. Yearbooks can still be purchased in person on Tuesday with cash or check for $55. First come, first served; last year we sold out.

Parents - please remind your students to turn in their MMS library books ASAP! Lost or unreturned books will be added to that student's fees list.

Parents can upload doctor's notes as well. We hope this process will be easier on everyone instead of sending a note with the student that can get lost easily!
