Huge thank you to our 2023-2024 Party Planning Committee! We are so grateful and appreciative of all the families who signed up to help decorate, clean up, supervise, and donate gift cards. Our students all had a great time eating, playing, and dancing, AND we had the most wonderful time! We look forward to hosting more events with you in the future. 2023-2024 HIGHLIGHTS
6TH GRADE
Remember when...
- We were the most excited group to attend Play Days and won the Tower Challenge with help from our 7th and 8th grade buddies?
- We were the BEST at showing our school spirit?!
- We tested our spaghetti and marshmallow towers against a simulated earthquake during an Inside Earth Unit?
- We dissected cow eyeballs?
- Smash, Boom, Best of West! Language Arts had to work together to form a podcast that included all parts of writing and we had to write a declaration of greatness, a sharknado of words, and the final six words.
- Math 6 students completed the Foldable Me project, where students you showed off your geometry skills?
- Accelerated 6 students hosted a Probability Carnival, where you had the chance to show what you learned about probability?
7TH GRADE
Remember when...
You got to see ecology in action during a field trip to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, thanks to our WMS PTCO?
You went to the Junior Achievement Finance Park to learn about loans, banking, insurance, saving, college, etc?
You completed the Religions and Philosophies Artifact Project where you created an artifact representing a particular religion or philosophy along with accompanying text?
You explored your mathematical creativity through different applications? (Algebra 1 students competed in the Desmos Global Math Art Contest as they explored animations, 3-D imaging, coding of colors and polygons, and domain restrictions for shading of linear and non-linear functions. Accelerated 7 students constructed a three-dimensional robot out of recyclables as they calculated surface area and volume of their composite solids. Math 7 students hosted an end-of-year Probability Carnival and designed, tested, and showcased your knowledge of compound probability.)
8TH GRADE
- Congressman Crow came to visit?!
- Mr. Eyolfson crushed his first year by being amazing?!
- Barbie Bungee was a success?!
- NJHS raised more than $4000 for charitable organizations, volunteered more than 1200 hours, wrapped more than 300 presents, and ate a whole bunch of fruit snacks!
- We were able to attend SO MANY fun activities in May because y'all are the best class ever!!! (Rockies Game, SS Debates, Boondocks, Ft. Logan, Field Day, Rocket Launches, Yearbook signing, 8th Grade Buck Drawings)
ELECTIVES
Remember in Art...
8th-grade art students honored veterans by painting portraits of students, staff, and community members' loved ones who currently serve or had served in the U.S. military, naval, or air service. Students worked collaboratively to create large mixed-media portraits.
Remember in World Languages....
Flamenco Denver came to visit, thanks to PTCO's grant!
Remember in Drama...
Mary Poppins played 2 amazing, standing room only shows as well as performing for the entire school...and the 100 students involved put in countless hours to create a truly special performance.

Important Update for CCSD Bus Riders – New App
MY RIDE K-12
Dear CCSD parents/guardians:
There is a new and improved transportation app for families called My Ride K-12 that provides information about your child’s bus route. This My Ride K-12 app replaces the Ride360 app, which will be phased out on May 1.
To ensure continued access to information about your child’s bus route, please download the new My Ride K-12 app from your favorite app store and log in to your child’s account. The Ride360 app will no longer be available starting May 1. You can log in with your existing Ride360 user name and password.
IMPORTANT: To continue having access to real time information about your child’s bus route, you must download the new My Ride K-12 app before the Ride360 app goes away May 1.
You can download it here:
The new My Ride K-12 app has improved usability and more modern technology that will give families access to critical information, including estimated times of arrival and departure for your child’s bus.
Last year, CCSD launched a new transportation program with RIFD cards for bus riders. The program was designed to increase safety, parent communication and bus route efficiency. The new My Ride K-12 app is an important and helpful tool for families whose students use bus transportation.

For other questions, please contact Teresa Peterson at tpeterson4@cherrycreekschools.org and 720-554-4647.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to continue providing safe and reliable bus transportation for your child.
Thank you,
Gary Thompson Director of Transportation
