Dear Baron Elementary Families,

Happy Fall! We have enjoyed seeing our learners and families at events like Back to School Night, Elementary Movie Night, and Baron's Breakfast. As we head into October, we are excited for the Fall Book Fair, Picture Day, and the opportunity to welcome parents to join their children for lunch. Your continued involvement and support make our school community stronger, and we look forward to sharing more wonderful experiences together throughout the year!

The Manheim Young Farmer organization has collected food items for many years to benefit our local community. However, due to the incredible devastation caused by hurricane Helene, we have decided to collect items for the communities in and around Asheville, North Carolina for this year’s food drive.

Non-perishable food items, diapers, cases of bottled water, personal hygiene items and cleaning supplies are all items that we will send to North Carolina. We plan to team up with local companies to send the items to NC at the end of farm show week.

Anyone interested in donating items for our food drive may drop off their donations all week in the Children's Farm Show area. In addition, we will collect items during the Manheim Farm Show parade on Wednesday, October 9th, as we will have a flatbed wagon and FFA members assisting us with the collection. Please consider joining us in donating to the folks who have been devastated by the hurricane. We thank you for your support!

Book Fair & Parents to Lunch – October 14-18, Baron Elementary Stage: Get ready to Saddle Up and Read… Our fall Book Fair is coming soon! Information regarding the Book Fair and the Parents to Lunch schedule will be coming home in early October.

Family Night at the Book Fair – October 17, 6-8 pm: Join us for a fun night at the Book Fair! Come and shop the Book Fair, make some crafts, and play some games from the Wild West! This is a drop-in event. Click here for more information!

Apparel Sales

Baron Elementary Spirit Wear online store is back! Now is the time to order sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, and more! There are a variety of size, color and design options for both youth and adult. Check out our Apparel Sale going on now until October 11th. Once the store closes, the items will be produced and then delivered to your child’s classroom.

Congratulations to 4th Grader Parker Hossler, who was selected by the specialist team as the September Learner of the Month! Mrs. Gassew presented Parker at the board meeting.

• Doors open at 7:15.
• Car Rider Procedure- Please utilize the car rider loop. Please pull up to the staff members outside when dropping off students.
  

• Walkers are dismissed at 2:10. Please wait for buses to load and depart before meeting your child at the front doors.
• Kindergarten Car Rider Procedure- Please enter Scout Alley and pick up your child at the same location as drop off. Make sure you have your car sign visible. If you have older learners, you will pick them up with your Kindergartener.
• Kindergarten Walkers- Kindergarten walkers will exit through the library door. This exit is for walkers only. If you are picking up your student in a car, please use Scout Alley.
• Car Rider Procedure for Grades 1-4
• Please enter the car rider line from Linden Street.
• A staff member will ask for your name and assign you a number from 1-6. We are sending home signs with your child's name to display on your windshield. This will expedite the process of assigning you a number.
• There will be 6 staff with yellow number signs. Please pull forward to your assigned number. Your child will be waiting at the number that you were assigned.

Please be advised that edible birthday treats are not allowed to be brought to school. According to the MCSD Wellness Policy established by the School Board, NO OUTSIDE FOOD is allowed to be brought in to school and shared. Regular snacks for your child are acceptable.

October 14-18- Parents to Lunch and Fall Book Fair

All volunteers and chaperones need to have their clearances done and submitted to the school district.

New for the 2024-2025 School Year...

You can now apply completely online to be a volunteer! Visit our new website to complete the application process and submit your clearances. You will have the ability to track your application and view/download your clearances at any time. Please be sure to have your clearances available as you will need to upload them to the application before submitting.
