Wildcat of the Month Award Winner: Tina Harms
The Montgomery County R-II School District would like to announce the March winners of the Wildcat Award. The Wildcat Award is given to staff members who exemplify our mission of creating lifelong learners and productive citizens. We are excited to present this award to Mrs. Tina Harms.
Tina is currently a second grade teacher at Montgomery City Elementary, she has taught other grade levels at MCE over the years.
Her nominations say:
“Tina has been extremely helpful to me as a new staff member. She has gone above and beyond what is expected of her as a co-teacher. Her organization and planning has been so beneficial to me. Tina has been so generous with sharing her ideas and in some cases supplies with me. Tina has also made me feel welcomed and a valued member of our grade level team.”
“I'm thrilled to nominate Mrs. Harms for the Wildcat Award – she's the absolute best! I've been in the district for four years, and Mrs. Harms has consistently blown me away with her dedication and creativity in the classroom.
Mrs. Harms isn't just a teacher; she's a superhero for her students. She goes beyond the books, making sure her classroom is a place where everyone feels heard and seen. Her knack for social-emotional learning is like the secret sauce that makes her teaching unforgettable.
What's even cooler? Mrs. Harms knows how to make learning fun. Dress-up days? She's got a stash of awesome outfits, so no one ever feels left out. Forts in the classroom for a reading nook? Yep, that's her genius at work.
At the end of each year, she hands out beach balls for students to get signed by everyone. It's not just a ball; it's a memory-packed keepsake that brings everyone together. And let's not forget the masked singer shenanigans – she knows how to sprinkle some extra fun into the mix.
But what makes Mrs. Harms a Rockstar is her positivity. She radiates kindness, and her encouragement creates this ripple effect throughout the whole school. Flexibility is just one strength, and she's not just teaching lessons; she's shaping flexible, adaptable humans.”
“Tina has consistently demonstrated a fostering environment of academic excellence, compassion, and inspiration. Throughout the year Tina Harms has exhibited exceptional dedication to her craft, going above and beyond to ensure that every student receives personalized attention and support. Her teaching methods, coupled with a genuine passion for teaching, she has ignited a love of learning in countless individuals. Tina's most powerful teaching approach is her ability to cultivate a sense of inclusivity and belonging in the classroom. She creates a safe space where students from diverse backgrounds feel empowered, share their perspectives, and engage in meaningful learning.
In addition, Tina is a true mentor and role model for both students and colleagues alike. She leads by example, demonstrating integrity, empathy, and unwavering dedication to teaching! Her willingness to positively collaborate enriches the entire school community, and provides continuous improvement. Tina fosters what it really means to be a wildcat, creating life-long learners and continues to push all students! She makes me proud to be a wildcat!”
Congratulations, Tina, we truly appreciate your dedication to our students!
