Big Changes to Schedule and Location of Practice - Please Read
Hello Everyone --
Yesterday I received a message from THPRD that the Aloha Pool Pump broke. This means after careful consideration that we will cancel practice on Monday. They offered us the Beaverton Pool at the same times but with many of swimmers with transportation issues we felt it best to cancel for Monday.
So here goes, As of right now, we will be practicing at the Beaverton Swim Center on Tuesday. It will be an all team practice so all three squads will practice. Practice will begin at 6:30 Am as usual. I will have more information tomorrow about the rest of the week.
Option School swimmers - all of you will get out by 7:30am and out to your usual rides to school. You will use your usual transportation to your schools.
Aloha Students: you will be bussed from Beaverton to Aloha. The bus leaves at 8:15am so you must be out of the locker room by 8:10, no room for delay. Those that drive must have your forms to me no later than today and you must sign out with us before you can leave. You will not be allowed to take passengers with you. No car, no ride, no exceptions, unless your parent picks you up and they must come in to sign out with us.
Weekly Update
Hello All --
First, my apologies about the team pictures on Friday. The photographer did not read his email from the company so no showed. We are working with the photography company to reschedule. I would also like to reiterate that the weekly schedule will always supersede the monthly schedule. If you have any questions please reach out.
I can't believe we are going to be starting to talk about our district swim meet already. We have the responsibility to time in one lane two shifts on Friday and two lanes four shifts on Saturday. These are exciting events and coveted seats. The link can be found below.
In the meantime:
- If you have not already done so: Please pay your swimsuit and athletic fees, we are getting to the point where they will not let you compete until paid or arrangements made with me (swimsuit) athletic office for athletic fee. Just go into to your parent view -- all fees have been attached to your student's account. We used funds for other swim items to cover the cost of swim suits and really need to make sure that those fees are repaid.
- Team gifts for seniors, etc... please get that money to your junior captains, they are trying to get things in place for our banquet and need the time to do so. Thank you, Claire, Thien-Mai & Aimee
I want to give a huge shout out to the Mattie family for hosting this last Wednesday. I understand that you ate them out of house and home - just kidding. I do understand that you ate everything which is wonderful. Thank you again to the Mattie's we really appreciate you. The next team dinner will be next week hosted by Andrea Nguyen at Coach Lisa's Home.
Cosmic bowling is this Friday. All of the information is below and we need to have your RSVPs no later than Wednesday at 5PM.
We have a bye this week so will not be competing. Instead we will have a swim meet the following week at Beaverton. Followed by our District meet the next week. We will be holding our team banquet on Thursday, February 13th. I will be sending out info and set up for RSVPS later this week.
Again, we want to reiterate the importance of nutrition and hydration. It is very important as swimmers to really watch your diet. You expend a lot more calories and deplete more electrolytes than you think. I challenge each of you to please review the many nutrition tips that your coaches have been sharing. We want you at your best when in class, at practice, dryland and in meets. Please take care and follow our tips.

The Metro League District Swim Meet
Hello All - we are coming up on the District Swim Meet where all swimmers will compete. Because this is a district meet all schools and all teams have responsibilities.
Last year our team hosted the hospitality room and wow was it awesome. As always Aloha rises to the top. We had by far the best hospitality room since the last time we hosted.
This year we are in need of timers. We are responsible for timing in Lane 7 - two timers for each of two two shifts and then on Saturday we will be responsible for timers in lanes 4 & 7 so four timers for each of two shifts. We really need to show that we are on the ball and get these shifts covered. So thank you in advance for all of your help and making sure to get signed up asap. Please only sign up for the Aloha shifts. Once those are covered then the AD will send out other opportunities to volunteer but the timers are our direct responsibility. Please help me to get these covered asap -- it is a great way to guarantee the best seats in the house. Please use the link below
Senior Gift Letter from Your Junior Captains
Dear Swimmers and Parents:
We have many traditions at Aloha Swim and one are the team gifts to our graduating seniors. Every year the Junior Captains collect funds to be used for a special gift from all of us to each senior. This is to appreciate them for all of their hard work, dedication and support for each of us. We want them to move on to their next chapter with something to remind them of their time with us and to always remember that we are Ohana.
We love this tradition but it cannot happen without the help of every swimmer, especially this year. We have 19 seniors graduating. We are asking each swimmer to donate $20 and for seniors to donate $10 to help keep this tradition alive. Your Junior captains will be having conversations with each group and will be collecting the money. These funds will go toward appreciating our seniors and coaches.
There is not a lot of time left in the season, so we are hoping to collect over the next week or so, to give us enough time to get everything organized and purchased. Your immediate help is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to Coach Lisa or one of our junior Captains.
We thank you in advance for your help,
Claire Eells, Thien-Mai Nguyen and Aimee Uotomo

Swim Reminders
Midnight Madness Fundraiser - We need your help
Please get your fundraiser dollars in ASAP
Midnight Madness - January 10th - Although completed we are still waiting for some of our donations - please get those is asap. Thank you
On January 10th we had our Midnight Madness Swim-a-thon from 10PM - Midnight (Mandatory). This is our only fundraiser. We ask that swimmers get sponsors for their swim. It is easier across the board for accounting. We hope that each swimmer will reach out to at least 10 family and friends to see if they will sponsor them. Please do not ask AHS staff members to sponsor you. We are asking that swimmers each try to raise at least $100. Every dollar counts. Thank you for your support.
All funds will go towards team t-shirts for the district meet, a new sound system and equipment for the team.
Donations can be made directly tp the team via online:
Step 1: go to the following link: https://or-beaverton-lite.intouchreceipting.com/
Step 2: Scroll to Aloha High School and click
Step 3: Under Item go AHS Swim Team Donation
Step 4: Memo please include the swimmer's name being sponsored.
