Greetings JES Family!
What a fun week at JES! We have been celebrating Homecoming Week, our JES Olympic activities, Picture Day, and Spirit Night at Feedstore BBQ. It was great to see so many of our families at the parade Wednesday evening, and I'm looking forward to a great turnout tonight at our free JES Tailgate and the Homecoming football game. The Tailgate and JES Family Picnic are two of my favorite events each year!
Congratulations to our amazing Assistant Principal, Nicole Williams, for being recognized as the CISD #InspireExcellence September Employee Award winner at the Board of Trustees meeting this week. Mrs. Williams loves our students, staff, and this community and works tirelessly and unselfishly behind the scenes to make sure each of our students and staff are supported. Thank you Mrs. Williams for all you do! Please take a moment to congratulate her when you see her.
If you haven't registered your student for the JES Olympics, please take a moment to do so using the link in the PTO section below, even if you don't plan on participating in the fundraiser. Students must be registered in order to participate in the obstacle course on October 4th, and we don't want anyone to miss this opportunity.
Finally, a huge thank you to our PTO, Dad's Club, and all of our volunteers for all you do to support our students, staff, and campus! You are all amazing and appreciated more than you know!
I am so honored to be the Principal of this amazing school and a part of this beautiful community. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns, questions, or joys to share with me!
GO DRAGONS!

School Funding
Did you know...
- Texas ranks 42nd in funding per student, spending about $4,000 less per student than the national average!
- The average school district in Texas receives about $10,000 in funding per student. However, CISD only receives about $8,700 per student, which ranks at the very bottom for districts in our state!
- In general, districts in Texas have not received an increase in per student funding since 2019, even though inflation has increased approximately 19% over that time.
CISD Budget Reduction Advisory Committee (BRAC)
The mission of the BRAC is to provide the Carroll Independent School District Administration and Board of Trustees with actionable financial strategies designed to ensure long-term District solvency. 4th Grade CogAT & ITBS Assessments
Our 4th grade students will be taking the CogAT and ITBS assessments during the month of October. These assessments are very important as they will be used to direct math placement and the math pathway for our students as they enter 5th grade. They will also be used to identify students for CISD’s Gifted & Talented Program.
If you are the parent of a 4th grade student, please take a moment to read the Parent Letter and review the Parent Information slides linked below.
If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to your teacher or our JES Counselor, Mrs. Bailey.
