Spring is coming!
Dear Families and Community,
Despite the fact that it can be hard to lose an hour of sleep when we spring forward for Daylight Savings Time, there is a lot of optimism in the air around an extra hour of light...and about the beautiful weather coming later this week.
Our all-school walking field trip to Sunset High School is on Thursday. Please read the section below so you have a thorough understanding of the logistics of this trip. Thank you!
Please enjoy the pictures below from our whole school Game Day. Our kids had a blast, and we will look for other opportunities to connect our students across grade levels because this was such a joyful experience.
Take care, and have a great week!
Wendy ❤️
School-wide Game Day
Mark your calendars! Winter Walk + Roll to School Day!
Walking Field Trip - Thursday, March 14
We are so thrilled to be invited to watch an abridged version of Sunset High School's The Sound of Music this Thursday morning. We will begin our walk from the fire gate at 9:15am in order to arrive at SHS by 9:30am. Our law enforcement partners will assist with the Cornell Road crossing. Students and staff will be with their designated buddy classes for the walk over and sit with them during the play.
It is critical that Terra Linda students arrive at school PRIOR to 9:05am on this day in order to participate in the field trip. Due to our need to safely account for all of our students, we are NOT able to allow any students to join this field trip directly at the fire gate, during our walk or at Sunset High School. Thank you for your understanding and strict adherence to this policy.
SHS is still tinkering with the length of their abridged production, but I understand it will be approximately 45-50 minutes. We will return back to TL at approximately 10:30-10:40, depending on the final length of the program.
School Improvement Plan News
In order to support our Safe & Thriving goal, we are working on the concept of INTEGRITY during the month of March. We are defining integrity as acting in a way you know to be right and kind in all situations. Please look for opportunities to integrate the concept of integrity into your family conversations if you can!
PTC News
Hello from the PTC!
We wanted to give a huge thanks to everyone who attended Bingo Night! It was such a fun night! The 4th grade was able to raise enough funds to cover their 5th grade party next year with funds left over! These extra funds will go straight to the PTC and be used for the many activities and projects our school has throughout the year; including passport club, running club, library remodel and much more.
Looking for ways to get involved in our school? We have lots of ongoing volunteer opportunities and we love our volunteers :) Your willingness to give your time is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed!

BSD Math Placement Testing for 5th Grade Families
About 9 out of 10 BSD students will be enrolled in “Math 6/7” for math next year. If you would like your student evaluated to determine whether “Math 7/8" or “Alg/Geo/Stats 1” would be appropriate instead, please see the BSD Math Placement Testing site to request testing.
All testing will take place in May at your student’s school during their school day. There will be no testing for current students after May. If you have any questions, please refer to the FAQ on the BSD Math Placement Testing site.
Language Arts / English Language Proficiency Elementary Curriculum Adoption Update
The Beaverton School District is currently engaged in an Elementary LA / ELP curriculum adoption. A Curriculum Adoption Committee is created for the purpose of providing instructional resource recommendations to the Beaverton School District School Board. The committee has met several times since December and will continue through the Spring of 2024.
Community members are invited to follow the work of the Adoption Committee on the LA / ELP webpage The page contains meeting session notes, links to resources and the opportunity to input comments and ask questions.
For the safety of our children!
Please, during drop-off and pick-up:
Observe all stop signs.
Please remember that the speed limit on campus is 10 miles per hour.
Drop students off at the yellow line only. (If you let them out sooner, it is a safety issue and interferes with the flow.)
If you require Terra Linda staff assistance with your student, please pull all the way up past the yellow line.
Did you know??
BSD students are given a public library card through BSD’s partnership with Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS).
New students enrolled between October 2022 and October 2023 received cards in the mail from November-December. Students with cards from previous school years can continue to use them. The cards have been renewed.
With the Student Library Card, students can:
• Check out up to five print books or audiobooks from any WCCLS library without any overdue fines
• Borrow ebooks in Sora from BSD and the public library (directions)
• Access Homework Help
• Access additional digital content
For more details about these cards, please see the BSD webpage about the partnership. Public Library Locations: Map and Hours
Terra Linda's Food and Hygiene Pantry
Thanks to our community's generous support of our food and hygiene drive, we have been able to collect remaining items and create Terra Linda's first Food and Hygiene pantry.
We hope to sustain this pantry throughout the school year for Terra Linda families.
We will gladly continue to accept food and hygiene donations to support our families. If you have items you would like to donate, please send them to school with your students or drop them off in the office.
Any families who would like to "shop" in our pantry, please call or stop by the office.
Once again, thank you for your continued support and generosity!
