Did you know LCSD1 serves an average of 8,800 cartons of milk every day?
If one cow produces about six gallons per day, it takes about 92 cows to produce enough milk every day to fuel LCSD1 students!
Freedom fourth graders study circulatory system
Fourth grade students at Freedom Elementary are learning about the circulatory system. To enhance their learning, the Laramie County Community College STEM trailer visited the students and allowed them to play with their virtual reality software to explore the human heart.
As an added bonus, LCCC brought hissing cockroaches for the students to examine!
Triumph High science experiments
Triumph High students have been learning about collisions in science class.
The students tested different types of collisions using everyday items. One group used cantaloupes to simulate a human head while testing out different protective gear.
Buffalo Ridge kindergarteners visit Windy Creek Farm
Buffalo Ridge kindergarteners are learning about our five senses and had the opportunity to test them out during their visit to Windy Creek Farm. One student explored his hearing with a sound wall, while others used their sense of touch in the corn pit.

Cole kindergarteners learn about firefighters
Firefighters visited Cole Elementary to teach kindergarteners about fire safety, how firefighters dress to protect themselves and what tools they carry on a firetruck. 🚒

HealthWorks mobile clinic available at junior high schools
The HealthWorks mobile clinic will be visiting all LCSD1 junior high schools on Wednesdays, now through December.
Johnson: 7:40-9:40 a.m.
McCormick: 10:40 a.m.-12:40 p.m.
Carey: 2-4 p.m.

Navigating Laramie 1 is an in-depth program designed to take community members and parents on a journey throughout the district. This program offers a series of interactive learning sessions and provides educational activities so that participants learn new things about the district and make new partnerships.
