These skills are essential for kids to engage in their education and support their emotional and mental health. From their friendships, anxiety, social media, conflicts with friends and family, and the constant pressure to “keep up,” this presentation will share insights and strategies to best connect—especially when they need us most.
Rosalind will cover:
- The current landscape for young people
- Defining the difference between dignity and respect and its essential role in relationships with young people
- Concrete, relatable strategies to support young people’s development and resilience
- Effective communication between adults and young people to avoid power struggles
After Rosalind's keynote we will introduce the people who will be giving other presentations during the year and then have a chance to meet them at the resource fair that follows.

Out-of-State College Fair
The Senior Scoop
Hello Class of 2025 and Parents!
The counselors enjoyed spending some time in our 12th Language arts classes on Friday. During our visit we went over the college application process including how to apply, deadlines, letters of recommendation, transcripts and more! We wanted to share our presentation slides with you. It is also posted on our counseling website, mohicounseling.com. The presentation outlines important information on how to get all the pieces of your application to your colleges in a timely manner.
We did not have time to go through the financial aid piece in this presentation. So I want to mention that the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is not at all connected to Monarch. You will need to go directly to the FAFSA website to complete this application. Here is some info on filling out the form. The form for your class is not yet available. You will be filling out the 2025-2026 FAFSA form. Make sure you do not fill out the wrong form! Last I heard they were going to open the 25-26 form by December 1st. We are planning to have a FAFSA Workshop to help with this process in early December.
Students are always welcome to sign up for a senior meeting with their counselor. You can sign up by clicking on your counselor's name on the mohicounseling.com homepage and choosing a block of time. We are also hosting Coffee with the counselors on October 11 and November 1st where we are available all day just to help seniors with applications.
If you have further questions please reach out to your counselor.
Thank you,
Monarch Counseling Team
