Chapel
Pastor Paul Green from Hope Community Church spoke at our chapel this week. Pastor Green talked about the fact that Halloween is often associated with scary things and the works of darkness. He shared the verse in Ephesians 6:12, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places."
Pastor Paul then opened a pumpkin and showed all the students the gunk inside the pumpkin. Without Christ, our lives are filled with sin and messy like the inside of the pumpkin. But the good news is that Jesus can clean up our lives on the inside. When we trust in Jesus and confess our sins, He will make us clean.
Then, Pastor Paul used a flashlight to shine inside the pumpkin. With Christ, we can shine and be a light in a dark world. Matthew 5:16 says, "In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
Next week, Pastor Chris Motes from Northern Lakes Church will be speaking at our chapel. Chapel is at 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday. You are invited and welcome to attend.

We continue to pray for our pen pal school, Unity in Hope School System. This school is located in Pakistan, where 98% of the population identifies as members of the Islamic faith. Their website states that "due to economic deprivation, religious minorities, mostly Christian, are often forced to line in 'colonies' that are walled off from the adjacent neighborhoods. Disease, malnutrition, illiteracy, and poverty are rampant in these areas." You can join our students in praying for the students who attend the Unity in Hope School System.
