Hamilton Highlights
HTHS Newsletter
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Dear Families,
It was another good week at HTHS. We hosted our first Red Cross Blood Drive of the year, celebrated our award-winning marching band, and had some students take a step toward their future with a college visit. We love that our students have so many opportunities to serve, succeed, and surge forward here at the high school. It makes us even more proud to be Rangers!
Here are our updates for this week!
What Do You Need To Know?
Leaders Emerge
RJ Santmire, Jeremiah Hicks, Kyan Spencer, Kamryn Clark, Ally Bocchicchia, and Abdul-Jabbar Ogunlana were chosen to represent Hamilton Township for the Ohio State Leadership Collaborative. The group had their first meeting at Columbus State this week. The Student Leadership Research Collaborative gives students a structured platform to research, discuss, and solve issues they identify. Participants will learn the skills and form the relationships they need to become change leaders at their schools.
Marching to a Championship
The Ranger Marching Band competed at the Thomas Worthington Preview of Champions this past Saturday, October 19th, where they won 2nd place in Class A, as well as Overall Best Visual.
The Rangers will compete in OMEA Marching Band Finals this Saturday, October 26th at 10:45AM at Hilliard Bradley High School. Good Luck Rangers!
Planning for the Future
The G.O. Team took junior and senior students to visit the campus of Ohio University - Lancaster Branch. While on campus, students received a tour and sat in with a prospective professor regarding a major of their interest. Afterward, students attended a Major Fair, where various personnel were set up to discuss with students the different majors available at OU and what those programs look like. Students also participated in informational sessions about financial aid.
Athlete of the Week
This week's honored athlete for our Jersey Mike's Athlete of the Week is none other than junior Jovon McBride. Jovon has proven himself this season on the football field. Despite starting the season with an injury, he came back full force and stepped into whatever role the team needed him in. Jovon's leadership and commitment to his team marks him as a superb student athlete. Congrats, Jo!
Rangers Save Lives
Our Rangers stepped up to the plate to help save lives by participating in this year's first Red Cross Blood Drive, sponsored by the National Honor Society. Students like ones pictured below (Ally Bocchicchia, Kyleigh McKnight, Maddison Wooten, and Calleigh Chambers) donated their time and blood to help those in need, including hurricane victims in Florida. We even had special guest donations by Mr. Tyler and Mrs. Eckenrode. NHS thanks them both for leading by example! Go Rangers!
Semester 1 Exam Schedule
In an effort to be proactive, we want to share the exam schedule students will be following at the end of the quarter. Please know that students are expected to be present for their exams at their appointed time. If students do not have an exam in the later periods, they are not required to remain in the building. Transportation, however, will run its usual schedule.
OSU vs. Michigan Football Tickets!
Want to see the Buckeyes take on that team from up North? The boys basketball program will be raffling off a chance to win two Ohio State vs. Michigan football tickets for this year's game in The Shoe. Want to enter? Check out the info below! Please note, this raffle is open to adults. So if your student wants to win, you may purchase the raffle tickets for them under your name.
