The Weekly Update # 9

As we step into September, let’s remember “Autumn leaves and pumpkins please.” While the pumpkins aren’t here just yet, we’re excited for the fresh start this month brings.

Even though it was a short week, the crazy heat made it feel like the longest one yet! Hang in there—cooler days are on the way, and we’re ready to make this month amazing together!

Parents, it’s that time of year again—Fall Sports are here! We're thrilled to offer Girls Volleyball for students in 3rd through 8th grade. This year’s sports fee is $80, and covers referee and facility fees. Plus, each athlete will receive a personalized uniform shirt featuring their last name that they can keep as a memento!

Don’t worry—Volleyball practice will not interfere with Dance Team commitments. We’re still waiting on the final game schedules from CYO. Once we have that, we will have more practice information-- most likely starting next week.

The Saints Sebastian Sports Project (SSSP) is offering a Free Girls Volleyball Clinic on September 21 for girls 4th – 8th grade. They will learn drills to get our team ready! THERE ARE ONLY 50 SPOTS PER SESSION AND THIS WAS OFFERED TO MANY SCHOOLS SO PLEASE RSVP TO MISS DUEÑAS BY EMAIL OR CLASSDOJO MESSAGE BY MONDAY. Miss Dueñas needs to email names and grades to SSSP.

Parents, it’s that time of year again—Fall Sports are here! We're thrilled to offer Boys Flag Football for students in 3rd through 8th grade. Thanks to an AMAZING opportunity from the Saint Sebastian Sports Project (SSSP) the sport fee for football will only be $50!

Our school is one of four schools that has been picked to participate in the Coach Schmitt Flag Football clinic that will take place Saturday, September 21, at American Martyrs School field in Manhattan Beach. The event is led by Rob Lucenti and former coaches from American Martyrs School. The clinic/scrimmage will be two hours in length where coaches will learn drills and then the kids will play in a scrimmage against another school.

Our school will also receive new uniforms, footballs, mouth guards and flags!!!

The clinic will take place from 11:30 a.m. -2:30p.m., with lunch, which is included, to take place before the clinic and scrimmage. Check in is at 11:15am!

We can only participate in this incredible opportunity if we have a full team! So if your son is interested in playing and can attend this incredible event, please fill out the form below! I need to inform SSSP by early next week, so please sign up promptly!

Mark your calendars for September 15 as we celebrate Catechetical Sunday, a special day dedicated to honoring the important role of catechists—those who teach and pass on our Catholic faith to others. It’s a time to reflect on our shared mission of spreading the Good News and nurturing the spiritual growth of our children.

September 15th is also our first Family School Mass of the year! Mass is at 11 am. We encourage all families to join us in this beautiful celebration. Each family will receive one service hour per family for attending Mass. Plus, students whose families attend will enjoy free dress on Tuesday, September 17!

A quick reminder: there’s no school on Monday, September 16 as our teachers will be participating in a professional development day. But we look forward to seeing you at Mass on Sunday!

I have received an update from Normans! Nick, the owner, has express shipped vests for us! If everything goes well with delivery, we should have some orders delivered to school by Tuesday!
