April 2025
Dear Parent/Guardian,
As we welcome April, we continue to foster growth and learning in our students. This month, our Portrait of a Wildcat focus is Critical Thinking—an essential skill that helps students analyze information, solve problems, and make thoughtful decisions.
Here are some ways you can encourage critical thinking at home:
-
Ask Open-Ended Questions: Encourage your child to explain their reasoning by asking, “Why do you think that?” or “What would you do differently?”
-
Encourage Problem-Solving: Present everyday challenges, such as planning a family activity or organizing their space, and guide them through possible solutions.
-
Play Thinking Games: Board games, puzzles, and riddles help develop strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
-
Discuss Books and Events: After reading a book or watching a show, ask, “What would you have done in that situation?” or “How does this relate to real life?
Thank you for your partnership in helping our students become thoughtful, independent thinkers. Your support makes a difference!
