PPCSD Bombers Bulletin

The PPCSD Bombers Bulletin is a communication from Dr. Brian Timm, Superintendent of Schools. The Bombers Bulletin highlights information and events happening in the Pine Plains Central School District.

Friday, October 11th will be filled with Ag Day fun and activities for PPCSD students in all grades!

There are exhibits (Including the fan favorite Crazy Creatures created by the elementary students!) in the gymnasium, livestock in the ag barns, and the annual Ag Day games and activities out on the athletic fields. It is a day students look forward to each school year!

(Reminder - The building and grounds are closed to the public during the day on Friday)

Also taking place on Friday, October 11th is the ever-popular Annual FFA Roast Beef Dinner! The Roast Beef Dinner is $20 per person, $10 for children ages 10 and under. For more information please contact Stephanie Rhoades at s.rhoades@ppcsd.org.

Saturday, October 12th has a full schedule of events for the entire community to enjoy. The day will start with the FFA Ag Day Parade through town. The Pine Plains Garden Club and Flower Show Car Meet will take place from 9am-3pm. There is the antique tractor pulling contest (Always a fan favorite!), food booths, a falcon demonstration, livestock and dairy show and so much more! The day's activities will culminate in an amazing fireworks display (For the best view, park on Jackson Road)!

It's the Best Little Agricultural Fair in Dutchess County!!

Congratulations to Pine Plains FFA President, Hope Miller for being selected to participate in New York State's first ever Youth Agriculture Leadership Conference. The conference is set to take place in Albany this November.

Hope was selected to attend this event because she is among the best and brightest students the NYS FFA has to offer. The theme for this pioneering conference, Collaborate, Cultivate, Elevate is sure to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience for young leaders like Hope. Congratulations, Hope!

The Harlem Wizards are once again coming to Stissing Mountain Jr./Sr. High School to face off against the Pine Plains Boomers faculty and staff!

The Harlem Wizards game is a fan favorite that provides a fun and entertaining evening the entire family will enjoy.

So come out on Wednesday, October 23rd at 7pm (doors open at 6pm) to support the Class of 2026, enjoy the game and take part in the fun!

NYSSBA (New York State School Boards Association) sponsors School Board Recognition Week to recognize school board members for their commitment to New York public school children. Recognizing school board member service should be a year-round endeavor, but designating one week to highlight these volunteers' efforts ensures they receive the thanks they deserve! School Board Recognition Week is an opportunity to raise community awareness and understanding about the crucial role school board members have within a school district.

The Elementary PTA is once again hosting the Boo-Thru Bash on October 26th!

Join the Pine Plains PTA for a walk-thru Halloween bash. Decorate your car, trailer or trunk and join in the Halloween fun. There will be a DJ Dance Party, costume contest, spooky displays, and so much more.
