FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
I'm looking forward to seeing many of you at our annual Spooktacular Trunk or Treat event tomorrow evening! A reminder that the Trunk or Treat runs from 5:30-6:30pm right here in the school parking lot and will also feature voting to select the winner of our annual Middle School Pumpkin Decorating Contest.
As we wrap up our fall Parent Teacher Conferences today, I am filled with gratitude. Firstly, for our teachers and staff who work diligently to care for the needs of our students and families. Frequently over the past two days I have had teachers stopping by my office eager to share a new idea they're planning to try, a new accommodation their looking to implement, or a new technique they want to explore in service of their students and based upon their conversations with parents and families during conferences.
Secondly, I am grateful to all of you, our Doyle families. Our handbook notes that "enrollment implies a partnership between the school and the family." Indeed, as a Catholic school, we recognize that parents are the primary educators of their children and therefore truly effective education only occurs when school and home partner together with a common vision for academic, spiritual, and social growth. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued partnership as we work together for the continued flourishing of your child and all children enrolled at Father Doyle School.
In addition, an essential element of this home-school partnership is open communication between both parties. With this in mind, Father Doyle School typically provides families with an annual Fall Parent Survey to gather feedback and information regarding the start of the school year.
I would highly encourage all families to complete the survey, which can be found here. Please know that responses are anonymous, and each response is carefully considered. Over the past several years, survey responses have prompted meaningful change in a range of areas including extended day programming, extracurriculars, curricular supplies, and more. Thank you for your thoughtful feedback!
