Dear Dimond Families:
Happy Homecoming Week! Hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend because this week is busy but SO MUCH FUN! Spirit week culminates with an assembly on Friday and the games on Saturday add a lot of positive energy to our building! I hope you are able to join us for Flag Football at 12pm and Tackle Football at 2pm. The floats at halftime are always entertaining! Please look closely at the expectations for the dance, and review them with your student(s). Our dances are a lot of fun and we want everyone to stay safe and make smart choices.

Hi From The Nurse!
Hi! It has been an exciting week here at DHS! There is lots going on and lots of viruses being shared. I have been encouraging students to sleep and feed their bodies well. I like to start the day with a high protein breakfast for optimal brain function!
I am still working on vaccine compliance, please know, I want to help! Students must be up to date with vaccines or have a religious exemption on file each school year.

Grades Matter! Academic Eligibility for Sports and Activities
Students participating in sports or all-state academic/ fine arts activities must remain academically eligible. Eligibility is checked at the beginning of the 1st and 2nd semesters, as well as the beginning of the 2nd and 3rd quarters. ASD VIRTUAL STUDENTS be aware that although virtual courses are self-paced, a quarter grade will be given based on your work completed during the grading period. This grade counts towards your academic eligibility. Students who are not eligible will not be able to participate in their sport or activity.
Map Testing
The MAP Growth Assessment testing window started September 3rd and ends September 13th The assessments will be taking place during Math and Language Arts classes as part of the curriculum for the course. Please see the following link for further information - 2024 Dimond MAP Newsletter.
Tardies and Absences
Tardies started counting towards discipline last Monday, Monday, August 26th, 2024. As a reminder 4 tardies equal 1 lunch detention, with increasing consequences for subsequent tardies!
If students arrive within the last 10 minutes of class, they will be marked absent (unexcused or excused based on whether they have a pass). Teachers will try and note the time they arrived in the attendance notes. This will help us track absences and we can reach out to families when patterns emerge.
Students returning late from lunch may receive an immediate detention. Open campus is a privilege and it is the responsibility of the student to manage their time if they choose to leave campus.
If your student believes that their attendance has been marked incorrectly, please have them stop by the main office and grab a pink attendance correction form to have signed by their teacher and then returned to the main office for correction.
Parking Permits
Parking Permits will be FREE again this 2024/2025 school year! HOWEVER, a physical Parking Permit Form must still be completed and returned along with a copy of your driver's license along with a copy of your insurance. Once the physical forms have been signed by both students and parents, a parking permit placard will be issued. You can pick-up the physical Parking Permit Forms in the front office from Mrs. Pritchard. The parking permit placard will be good for the entire school year. Placards must be visible in your vehicle at all times. Starting this week, parking fines will randomly be issued to those who do not have a parking permit or are parked in the reserved spots, such as the Lynx Lair spots reserved for parent volunteers.
Activity Stickers
Activity Stickers are available for purchase online through ParentConnect. The cost is $50.00 for the school year. This will get your student into any home or away game during the school year. Your student will receive a label on their Student ID they will need to present at the games
Warm Regards,
