FINISH STRONG
We are in the home stretch with just under one month of school left. We had PBIS class meetings to discuss behavioral expectations as the weather gets warmer and students get more excited. We reminded students that phones are powered off and in their locker (earbuds, too), to leave their space in classrooms, lunchroom, and hallways as clean as they found it, and to dress within the dress code. We want to finish the year strong and enjoy the whole class field trips that are planned in the last few weeks of school.
Please take a few minutes to reinforce to your student the importance of following these expectations. It is really impactful when students hear the same message from home and school. We appreciate your support!
SUBMIT PICTURES OF YOUR 8TH GRADER FOR 8TH GRADE VIDEO
PICTURES DUE 5/31
Get ready to smile because we're keeping the wonderful tradition alive of having a photo slideshow at the 8th-grade celebration! To make this happen, we'd love for you to share a few photos with us. Think of it as a little trip down memory lane! 😊
Here's what we're looking for:
Blast from the Past! We'd love a photo of your amazing 8th grader from their 6th-grade year. If you don't have one from 6th grade handy, any photo from when they were a bit younger will work perfectly!
Right Here, Right Now! Please send us a current photo of your 8th grader. Let their personality shine! ✨
Bonus Fun! (Totally Optional) If you have a special photo you'd like to share, we'd be happy to include it! This could be from a school sports event, a school dance, the awesome Washington DC trip, or even just a great picture with a group of friends. It's all about capturing those memorable moments! 📸
When you save the photo files, please make sure to name them using your student's first and last name. This will help us keep everything organized. For example, if your student's name is Alex Johnson, the files should be named "AlexJohnson1.jpg", "AlexJohnson2.png", and so on.
We're so excited to see all the fantastic photos and make this year's celebration video extra special! Thanks so much for your help! 😊
LAST DATES FOR AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING - 5/20, 5/27 & 6/2
PSAT 8 SCORES ARE AVAILABLE IN REPORTING PORTAL
Information on how to access PSAT scores:
Students “own” their data and results. The College Board provides all students with the opportunity to set up an online account to access their scores in the reporting portal. Student scores will be available individually in the reporting portal long before the school will be provided with scores for the cohort, as a whole. For various technical reasons, we have found that creating this account at home makes for a much more successful experience. For instructions on how to set up a College Board account click here. To see a video demonstration, click here.
Once students have created College Board accounts they can choose to create a Khan Academy account and to link the accounts for access to FREE online official SAT practice. For information on how to link College Board and Khan Academy accounts click here; or watch a video here
8TH GRADE RECOGNITION CEREMONY - JUNE 11TH
Please read the message below, which was sent to 8th grade Students & Families on Monday, May 12, 2025.
Good morning, 8th-grade Students and Families,
We want to start with a heartfelt apology for not fully considering all those impacted by changing the date for the 8th-grade Recognition Ceremony. There are scheduling conflicts that cannot be resolved if it remains on Tuesday.

Again, we sincerely apologize for the multiple changes to this event’s date. We understand this may have caused confusion or inconvenience, and we truly appreciate your patience and flexibility as we worked through scheduling challenges.
We’re excited to end the school year celebrating our 8th-grade class on June 11, 2025!
