PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families,
I hope you're having a great week and looking forward to the weekend! I’m excited to share that Eagle Crest will be hosting a VEX Robotics Tournament this Saturday from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM in the gym, and we’d love to see you there.
Our competitive robotics team has been working incredibly hard, and their dedication paid off at their last tournament where they brought home the “Design Award” for their excellent notebook and student team interview! Their success speaks to their teamwork, innovative designs, and problem-solving skills—skills that we value and build throughout our school.
At Eagle Crest, robotics isn’t just for competition. We introduce robotics starting in Kindergarten and integrate it into learning at all grade levels through our STEM Garage and Late Start Wednesday Day of Coding. Plus, all 3rd and 5th graders get hands-on experience building robots in our dedicated robotics lab, using the same tools and materials as our competitive teams.
This approach ensures that every student, whether or not they compete, has the chance to develop an engineer’s mindset—thinking critically, problem-solving, and creating with technology.
I hope you’ll join us this Saturday to cheer on our team and celebrate their hard work! It’s a great opportunity to see robotics in action and be part of this exciting experience.
See you there!
Warmly,
Amanda

CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE (FORMERLY TRIBUTE TO TEACHERS)
The St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation is thrilled to announce that the Celebration of Excellence (formerly Tribute to Teachers) nomination form opens on January 13th! This cherished annual event honors outstanding educators from every St. Vrain school who exemplify excellence in their roles and make extraordinary contributions to student success.
We invite students, parents, volunteers, fellow educators, school staff, community members, and business partners to nominate exceptional educators who inspire, innovate, and shape the future. In order to qualify, nominees must be licensed educators in the State of Colorado and employed at a St. Vrain Valley Schools campus for the current school year. Educators who received their school's Educator of the Year honor within the past two years are not eligible.
Based on your nominations, one educator from each St. Vrain Valley school will be selected as their school’s Educator of the Year. These honorees will be recognized during the Celebration of Excellence on April 11, 2025, where a district-wide Educator of the Year will also be announced.
Nominations are open January 13 through February 5. Don’t miss this opportunity to recognize the educators who make a lasting impact in our schools and community!
