Alma DECA Hosts Miracle Minute to Benefit Reynolds Cancer Support House
The Donald W. Reynolds Cancer Support House in Fort Smith is the largest free-standing cancer support facility in the country. They provide cost-free, ongoing support for patients fighting cancer.
Alma DECA hosted a Miracle Minute on Friday, October 13, 2023, during halftime of the Alma Airedales versus Harrison Goblins football game. During these 60 seconds, DECA members rushed through the stands of the stadium on the home and visitor sides to gather change donations from the fans in attendance.
With the support of the Alma and Harrison communities, Alma DECA was able to raise $1,769.00 for The Reynolds Cancer Support House. Alma DECA thanks the Airedale and Harrison fans who donated. The project managers were Jasmine Henely, Raleigh Burris, and Brayden Peppas who, with 54 AHS and AMS DECA members, completed an effective Miracle Minute.

Chess challenge
Dr. Duffie recently visited Mr. Bridges' class at Alma Intermediate, where he took on a few students in a game of chess. Despite being challenged, Dr. Duffie emerged victorious and remained undefeated throughout the games!
AHS Quiz Bowl
It was a tough battle for the AHS Quiz Bowl Team against Southside, a regular 7A champion. The game was neck and neck with only two questions separating the teams after three quarters. But, drumroll please, let's give a big round of applause to our MVPs of the year, Ayden and Evan! These two Quiz Bowl champs have been crushing it for years, and we're lucky to have them leading our pack this year. They'd like to dedicate their incredible performances to the one and only Mrs. Mills. Your impact on our student's lives is immeasurable, and we're grateful for all you do!
