Chromebook Expectations
The District provides each student with a chromebook, this is the property of the school district and serves as a loaner to students for academic purposes. You are in charge of the device, the power adapter and their care! This device is not to be shared with anyone, and if it is, you are still the one accountable for its usage, its loss and/or condition. Repairs will be handled by the school district unless it is physically seen to be broken or neglected. It is expected that you will take care of this device. If negligence is determined, a repair cost will be added to the student’s School Cash account. The full chromebook agreement can be viewed here.

El Distrito proporciona a cada estudiante con un chromebook, esto es propiedad del distrito escolar y sirve como un préstamo para los estudiantes con propósitos académicos. Usted está a cargo del aparato, del cargador y de su cuidado! El aparato no se debe compartir con nadie, y si lo es, usted todavía sigue siendo el responsable por su uso, su pérdida y/o su condición. Las reparaciones serán manejadas por el distrito escolar a menos que fisicamente se vea roto o neglecto. Se espera que usted le brinde buen cuidado a este aparato. If your student would like to purchase a yearbook, now is the time to do so! The $37 fee is on your student's School Cash account OR you can send your student in to the front office with a check or cash. Don't miss out on this opportunity.

SSMS PIC
The next PIC meeting will be on Wednesday, January 15. PIC supports the students and staff at SSMS through various programs including enrichment activities and materials for students, fundraising, parent educational presentations, staff appreciation, conference meals for staff and more. If you would like to be more involved with the PIC, please contact Val Dietrich, vdietrich@ssk12.org.
If you would like to make a monetary donation to the PIC, you may do so in the front office. If you shop at City Market, you can set up your value card to benefit SSMS. Register in January yearly at: https://www.citymarketcommunityrewards.com. You can also register with AmeriGas and they will pay $0.02 per gallon, up to a maximum of $2,000 per year!!

7TH GRADE CLUB SEEKING CROCHET DONATIONS- EL CLUB DE 7o. GRADO ESTÁ BUSCANDO DONACIONES DE CROCHET
This club will meet on Thursdays during 7th grade lunch starting after break and is in need of supplies. If you would like to donate either yarn or crochet hooks, please drop them by the front office at SSMS. Please and thank you.

Bus Lanyards - Cintas Colgantes para los Buses
Many students were issued bus passes on red lanyards. They will be using these passes to enter and exit the bus, which will help us know where your student is at all times.
Please make sure the lanyards are kept in a safe place. We recommend you attach the pass to your student's backpack. If your student did not receive a bus pass, please complete this School Bus Transportation Request. Until we work out the kinks, all students are welcome on the bus without a pass.

Esta semana se les entregó a muchos estudiantes su pase de bus con cordones rojos. Ellos usarán estos pases para entrar y salir del bus, lo que nos ayudará a saber en dónde está su hijo en todo momento.

Did you know that your child can have a dental appointment right here at school? Northwest Colorado Health’s Mobile Dental Clinic will be at our school on select Wednesdays from 9am-4pm. Appointments are available for students of all ages to see Annie Juergens, Registered Dental Hygienist, during the school day. Save yourself time and simplify your schedule – make an appointment for your child’s school-based dental visit today! Medicaid and Private Insurance is accepted. If you do not have insurance, the amount you pay for services will be based on your family size and income. In partnership with LiftUp, we are excited to offer our students healthy snack options through the Rocket Pack program here at Steamboat Springs Middle School. We want these food resources to be connected to the students/families who truly need the support.
What is a rocket pack?
A Rocket Pack is a small selection of healthy snacks. The selection of snacks is chosen based on their sodium, sugar and fat levels. These snack options are provided to each student who registers for the program.
How does the program work?
LiftUp delivers the Rocket Packs to the middle school at the beginning of each week. The student then picks their snacks at the counseling office at their convenience.
How to register your students?
Click HERE to access the Rocket Pack form (Spanish form). If you would like your student to have access to this selection of snacks each week, please complete the form and return it to school. Your student can give it to one of the counselors or you can email it to apappanastos@ssk12.org.

En asocio con el LiftUp, estamos emocionados de ofrecer a nuestros estudiantes opciones de merienda saludables por medio del programa "Rocket Pack" aca en la escuela Intermedia de Steamboat Springs. Queremos que estos recursos alimenticios estén conectados a los estudiantes/familias quien realmente necesitan apoyo.
Que es un rocket pack?
Un Rocket Pack es una selección pequeña de bocadillos saludables. La selección de bocadillos es elegida basada en su sodio, niveles de azúcar y grasa. Estas opciones de bocadillos son proporcionadas a cada estudiante que se registre al programa=.
Como funciona este programa?
LiftUp envia los Rocket Packs a la escuela intermedia en el inicio de cada semana. Luego el estudiante recoge sus bocadillos en la oficina de consejería a su conveniencia.
Cómo registrar a sus estudiantes?
Presione ACÁ para acceder al formulario de Rocket Pack (Spanish form). Si le gustaría que su estudiante tenga acceso a esta selección de bocadillos todas las semanas, por favor complete el formulario y envíelo a la escuela. Su estudiante se lo puede entregar a uno de las consejeros o usted lo puede enviar por correo electronico a apappanastos@ssk12.org.
