Life With Frenchy
Thanksgiving Edition
Time is a Valuable Thing
Have you ever thought back to when you were a child and started to remember all the memories and family traditions you used to have?
Preparing the table for all your Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandmas, and Grandpas, and anyone else you've considered family.
I know for a lot of people especially now might have "Friends-giving". Around the holidays especially, people might not have the family the used to have anymore. I find it difficult talking to friends that don't have their parents around anymore, it makes me sad to see others not celebrate anything because they are still grieving the loss of a loved one.
Focusing on the here and now, Thanksgiving to me is about spending quality time with the people you do have currently. Because You just don't know how much time anyone has.
Embracing every moment like it could be your last.
Take that extra 30 seconds to hug that one Aunt that is always pinching your cheeks, she may not be here tomorrow. We aren't promised tomorrow.
Play a game of cards with that one Uncle that probably smokes a little too much but you still love him, because he slips you a $5 bill in your back pocket, because secretly you're his favorite.
The cousins that are always wanting to be super close to you and haven't seen you in forever, but you find them super annoying and you spend half the time trying to run away and avoid them, might not be getting the kind of love, support or attention at home they way they are supposed to. They might be going through a lot. Taking a little bit of time to have a heart to heart conversation with them, could make a huge difference in their world.
Be grateful that you have family that's still around. Stop bringing up the past and dwelling on things that have made tensions rise within the family.
Isn't it time we stop, set our differences aside for a family meal that may come once a year for some families?
Let's start making new memories, and new traditions. Bring back the things we did as children that made us laugh and be entertained for hours.
Open your hearts, open your minds to a possibility that things can and could be different if we just took the time to slow down and explore a new perspective on how to make a effort to change the generational curses, that have strained relationships with your own family members.
One thing can shift the energy, One prayer can reach someone new, One simple thought of being selfless can be the answer to change a life.
It's time to move forward and start a new beginning, and creating deeper relationships with our family members. Learn to forgive, and pray for many blessing to come their way. Your Life and your heart will always be rich and full.
Songs about family and love
Little Voices
Always remember to love your family even if they've done bad things.
Love them and care for them even if they don't care for you.
Spend time with your family so you can make memories.
