Mustang News - March 1, 2024
From The Principal
Happy March! This week we celebrated Mustang Strong Day, which was a phenomenal chance for our students to participate in a huge range of activities: a 5K run, cooking class, navigating worldwide travel, how to change a tire, budgeting, and so much more. Thank you to our numerous community partners and staff members for their creativity and hard work bringing these opportunities to life!
Looking to the next couple of weeks, we are excited to partner with families during Family Conferences on 3/14 and 3/15 (please see more details below).
Have an awesome weekend!

Parent Teacher Conference Announcement
Dear Mustang Families,
Conferences are a great opportunity for you to connect with your child’s teacher about their learning. Students are encouraged to attend along with parents/guardians to offer a clear circle of feedback. This spring, conferences will be held virtually on Thursday, March 14th from
1:15pm - 6:30pm and Friday, March 15th from 8:00am-12:00pm. To schedule a conference with a teacher, click on the name below. Calendly will automatically set up a Google Meet for the selected time. Last month Sources of Strength (SOS) focused on the importance of Self-care and Self-compassion in regulating overall productive mental health.
For March, our focus is on the benefits of engaging in nature. From a stroll through a city park to a day spent hiking in the wilderness, exposure to nature has been linked to a host of benefits, including improved attention, lower stress, better mood, reduced risk of mental health challenges and even upticks in empathy and cooperation. Most research so far has focused on green spaces such as parks and forests, and researchers are now also beginning to study the benefits of blue spaces, places with river and ocean views(AMA, 2023). How will you engage with nature in the month of March?
For more information on the benefits of spending time in nature, check out our bulletin board by the front office or join us for a meeting on Thursdays at lunch in Dr. Moen's room (12).
