Hello Everitt families!

It was a wonderful first two days with students at Everitt this week. Thank you to all of our families who came to Back to School Night to meet teachers, open lockers, walk schedules, and sign up for clubs.

If you would like to sign up for clubs, it's not too late! Clubs will start on August 26th. This next week, we will begin talking with students about club options and giving them an opportunity to join. See below for a list of clubs that we plan to provide. Most clubs run from 8:05-8:30 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. There are a few clubs that start earlier in the morning. Middle School Sports Program through Wheat Ridge Recreation Center is also up and running. We have flag football and cross-country right now. If you would like to sign your child up for either of those sports, please look below for more information.

This week, we have our first Thursday late start day. We will provide supervision in the cafeteria for students who ride the bus or any student who needs to come but most students will arrive for first period at 9:55. Once a student is on campus (by riding the bus or being dropped off) they are expected to stay on campus and go to the cafeteria. If students wish to work on assignments in the cafeteria they may do so but their teachers will not be available to support them during that time. The reason for the late start schedule is to allow teachers to collaborate and plan amazing lessons and units for students and analyze data and respond to student needs. Teachers will be meeting each week during late start.

Wednesday, September 4th at 6:30 pm is our first PTA Meeting. We will meet in the school library and will have a Zoom option as well (look for the link on our PTA page included below). Come connect with others and enjoy this month's staff spotlight, along with a little Middle School 101 presentation from our Principal, Amanda Pouliot.

Thursday, September 19th is Everitt's Community Movie Night on the hill at Everitt. Bring a blanket and some snacks (we'll provide the popcorn) and enjoy a movie with new and old friends.
