Thanksgiving
While we have a Thanksgiving Day, I am confident we all would agree we should be grateful and thankful everyday! Life can bring stress and struggles, but if we can focus on what really matters, which I believe is spending time with those we care about and those that care for us, it is much easier to be thankful! Studies show that gratitude and anxiety can not coexist; therefore if we can focus on things, even small things, that bring us gratitude our anxiety and stress will be reduced. However you are spending it, I am wishing our CIS Families a Happy and Wonderful Thanksgiving!!
Trimester One Report Cards
Trimester 1 report cards will be sent home with students on Friday, December 6. Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions.
Winter Gear
Thank you!! With a few exceptions, our students are coming prepared for Minnesota winter recesses! Awesome job students and families!! Quick reminder: if you could somehow label items, even with initials - teacher name and grade being 3K for Mrs. Koenig and student's initials JS for John Smith, it would help us find the owner.
Measuring/Monitoring Students' Perception
As a part of our CIS Growth Plan, we are wanting to monitor students' feelings on a few key areas: math, reading and friendship. In the next few days, we will give the students a 5 minute survey asking them these questions:
Survey Questions
Scale 1- 4
1 - not at all
2 - usually not
3 - sometimes
4 - yes
I like reading.
I am good at reading.
I like math.
I am good at math.
I have friends at school.
I like school.
I am a good friend.
How many friends do you have?
- none - one - a few - many
Data collected will be used to monitor grade levels and whole school, and not individuals.
Please contact me if you have any questions, thoughts or concerns.
