Principal Ahmann's Message
Hola Scotties!
I am so excited to announce that we have been allocated an assistant principal! We have over 500 students enrolled currently and I am grateful to have a teammate to support our students, staff and community! Yolanda McKinney will be joining us beginning on October 7th. I have included a letter of introduction from her below.
Tonight is back to school night! This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your students' teachers, visit the classrooms and connect with other community members. We hope you will all join us to learn more about all the amazing things our students will learn this year!
Warmly,
Tiana Ahmann
Meet Ms. McKinney
Hello super Scott students and families!
It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter of introduction as the new Assistant Principal of Scott. I am incredibly grateful and excited to join the Scott Family! I look forward to working in partnership with Mrs. Ahmann and each of you to continue the work of growing the next generation of world changers.
Prior to Scott, I was the assistant principal at another local dual language Spanish immersion school, a classroom teacher for ten years in PPS and an Equity Coach in Vancouver.
On a more personal note, I am the proud mother of three beautiful children. My oldest, Princeton, will be entering his senior year at the University oÿ Washington and my daughter Elliana will be a sophomore at the University of Washington as well. My youngest, Felton, will be joining the Scott family as a first grader! Yep, I started all over again! I am supported at home by my wonderful partner, Felton Sr.
I look forward to meeting and collaborating with each of you.
In the spirit of collaboration and excellence,
Yolanda
We Would Love Your Feedback!
Rosi, our school social worker, is conducting a needs assessment for our school as part of her work with the Communities in Schools grant. She is gathering feedback from our families on what is working well at Scott and what are areas for improvement. We appreciate you taking the time to complete this survey.

Lice Awareness
As students return to classrooms, there may be cases of lice. Families should check their students' heads periodically and remind students to maintain their personal space to avoid spreading lice. Lice is not something that schools can screen for or treat. We also do not exclude students from school who have lice. I have included an informational flier about how to identify and treat lice below.
Scottie Paws
Teachers and staff acknowledge students for demonstrating our school values of being inclusive, showing integrity, perseverance and a dedication to excellence. On Fridays, students can bring their Scottie Paws to the cafeteria to enter them in a drawing. One possible reward is to invite a friend to sit at a special table during lunch. Scottie paws are a great way to ask your students about what they are proud of at school and what they are hoping to earn for their hard work!
Assembly to Celebrate Our School Value of Inclusion
Two students were recognized from each class! Congratulations to our award winners for demonstrating inclusion at Scott!
Buddies
On early release Wednesdays, students will meet with their buddy classes. Buddy grade are K and 3rd, 1st and 4th and 2nd and 5th. Ask your student about what they learned about their buddy this week!
