Welcome to a new week! We want to thank our families who joined us for some fun for some Donuts with Grown Ups Holiday Cheer fun and for also joining us for our annual Tamalada! As we enter the last week before we go on winter break, we would like to thank you for staying connected with us this semester. This week we will continue with the 10 days of winter fun dress up days!

Please be reminded that we will have school all week next week with Friday being an early release day at 11:35am. Students must be at school each day until 10:00am in order to receive credit for the day.

Capturing Kids Hearts (CKH) Process

At our school we incorporate the Capturing Kids' Hearts process. This helps educators build strong, positive relationships with students by creating safe, supportive classrooms where everyone feels valued. We are also a CKH Showcase school and have been awarded this recognition for the past three years. We would like your support in completing the survey below that is for families:

With the library almost complete, I would love to add some new favorite books for the students to enjoy. Our Library Book Club list has been updated and it's a great way to recognize a birthday or student while adding to our collection. We have set up an online spirit wear store on our PTO website, and it will be open until all inventory is sold! We have new hoodies, t-shirts, hats, and even clearance shirts! Yahoo!!

This year we will have a "Career Day" for our students at CES; our tentative date is February 14th, 2024. In order for us to provide a powerful learning experience for all, we are planning ahead and asking our parents for assistance in this endeavor. We want to know what our students' parents do for a living and if they are willing to come and share their experience in their specific field with us. If you are willing and able to participate in our special "Career Day" this year, please complete the following form.

Note: This is for the purpose of identifying our options only at this time and does not bind you to any commitment. After we gather this information, we will then reach out to select parents to plan our presentations. This interest form will be open from November 18th through December 18th .

CES is excited to announce that the referral window for the Gifted and Talented program will be open from November 15th to December 17th. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to nominate your child for consideration in our Gifted and Talented program, which is designed to provide advanced educational opportunities for students who demonstrate exceptional abilities.

If you believe your child would benefit from this program, please take the time to submit a referral during this window. Additional information about the process, including the referral link, can be found on the district’s Advanced Academics website linked below

We encourage you to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have regarding the referral process. Thank you for your continued support in fostering our students’ growth and potential.

Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance.

• Excused or unexcused absences represent lost time in the classroom and lost opportunities to learn.
• Official attendance times are 10am for Elementary and 10:30am for Secondary.
• Appointments should be scheduled at the start or end of the school day to be counted as D=Doctor Appointment Same Day and not as an absence. Students must be present a portion of the day for a D absence code.
• If the student is out the entire day, they are absent.
• Every student's situation is different. If there are barriers keeping your student from being at school, please reach out to us.

7:00 a.m.- Cafeteria Doors Open for Breakfast (All students will enter through our cafeteria doors between 7:00-7:33 a.m. After 7:33 a.m., students will enter the school through the front office.

7:30 a.m.- Students begin to enter their classrooms

7:35 a.m.- Tardy Bell

3:00 p.m.- Dismissal
