As Thanksgiving approaches, I want to take a moment to reflect on the profound impact each of you has on our students, our schools, and our community. It’s in this spirit of gratitude that I’d like to share a few thoughts—both from myself and from some of the incredible staff members who have contributed to our November thankfulness challenge.
To Our Students:
You are the heartbeat of our schools. Your energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm inspire us each day. Whether excelling in academics, arts, athletics, or simply sharing your joy and kindness in the hallways, you remind us why we do this important work.
To Our Dedicated #PointProud Team:
Thank you for your commitment to shaping the lives of our students. Every lesson taught, hallway monitored, meal prepared, and connection made builds the warm and supportive environment that defines our schools. Your passion and resilience inspire me daily, and I am profoundly grateful to work alongside you.
To Our Families:
You are the foundation of our district’s success. Your encouragement at home, involvement in school activities, and trust in us to guide your children’s education are vital to our collective mission. We see you cheering on students at events, volunteering at school functions, and partnering with us to ensure every child thrives.
Together, we are more than just a district; we are a community united by a common purpose: Every Student, Every Day, Beyond Expectations. May your Thanksgiving holiday be filled with joy, connection, and gratitude for the meaningful work we do together.
With warm regards,
Superintendent
🙏 Gratitude From Our Schools
I start each day coordinating substitute teachers, a task that keeps me busy organizing schedules, logins, and classroom plans. But I can’t take credit for all the coordination! Special Education teachers Joe Korb and Brian Hintz step in every morning to manage Educational Assistant substitutes. They create detailed schedules tailored to each day’s needs and ensure everything is ready by 7:15 a.m. Their flexibility and teamwork not only support me but demonstrate their care for our students and staff alike. I’m grateful for their efforts and how much they embody our mission of making BF a great place to be.
-Andrea Cisewski, Head Secretary, Ben Franklin JH
I am thankful for Angela Hintz for being the light in leading our school as principal. From summer school at Madison to her current role at Plover-Whiting, Angela embodies the word leadership with grace and elegance. She celebrates every individual for who they are, listens with compassion, and leads with knowledge and drive. Her dedication makes Plover-Whiting a wonderful place to learn and work. Being a Wildcat isn’t just a title—it’s who we are, and Angela makes us proud to say it!
-Amanda Esser, Teacher, Plover-Whiting Elementary
🍽️ A Special Meal Shared
This Thanksgiving, our Charles Fernandez students had a truly special experience. Legacy Family Restaurant opened their doors to our students, providing a delicious meal and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. This heartwarming gesture brought our school community together and created lasting memories. We're so grateful for their kindness and generosity.
