Caldwell Schools Board Report

This update is intended to provide information on Board decisions, as well as school and community events.

Each year, the Idaho School Boards Association holds their Annual Day on the Hill Event. This event provides an opportunity for your Caldwell Trustees to discuss legislative issues impacting public education with our local representatives. This year we were able to meet with Representative Julie Yamamoto and Representative Chris Allgood.

Day on the Hill also provides School Board Members time with colleagues from around the State to discuss important legislative issues related to our public schools. During this event, we also attended House and Senate Education Committee Meetings, received critical needs updates, and networked at the legislative luncheon.

Millions of young people experience high stress, anxiety, and depression. In Screenagers Next Chapter: Addressing Mental Health in the Digital Age, we follow physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston as she discovers solutions for improved adolescent stress, anxiety, and depression in the digital age.

This films provides information on the impact of social media and screen time in general is incorporated in topics brought to our attention in Screenagers NEXT CHAPTER, how it may be impacting our teen’s mental health, and what we can do to help support youth in the face of struggles.

Caldwell School District is joining with the Learning First Alliance and partners nationwide to celebrate educators, students, and school communities during Public Schools Week 2024.

During the week of February 26 - March 1, we’re highlighting the amazing things happening in our local public schools while expressing our support and advocacy for public education and all the benefits it provides children and families alike.

Public Schools Week 2024 is part of the #HerefortheKids campaign, an effort to bring together families, educators, and community members to shine a light on local public schools and tell the stories of the amazingly positive things happening in classrooms and school buildings nationwide.

We are signing up our youngest learners for Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 2:30-6:00 pm. Registration will be held at your elementary school. Make sure to bring your Kindergarten student with you to registration to receive a free gift.

Please join us for our next Regular Board Meeting on Monday, March 11, 2024. Meetings are held at the Caldwell School District Office, Vernon DeMark Board Room, 1502 Fillmore St. Caldwell Idaho, 83605 at 7:00 pm. If you can't attend in person, the meeting will be live streamed on the District's YouTube page.
