Superintendent's Message
Dear JUHSD Community,
As we approach Spring Break next week, April 7-11, I want to take a moment to express my appreciation for our students, staff, and families. This time offers a well-deserved opportunity to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with loved ones.
Whether you're traveling, spending time at home, or exploring new activities, I hope you have a restful and enjoyable break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for the final stretch of the school year.
Stay safe, take care, and have a fantastic Spring Break!
Warm Regards,
Toni Presta

JUHSD Summer School 2025
Information for the District's 2025 Summer School Program is here!
We are proud to announce a number of learning pathways to support your students and their learning experiences here at JUHSD. To learn more about course offerings and the summer school registration process, please take a look here (Spanish Version, and Tagalog Version). The location is at Westmoor High School, and the first day of summer school is June 4, 2025.
Parents and Guardians, please note that:
Students who are in need of meeting graduation requirements will be identified by the school counselors, and they will communicate with both students and you about enrolling into the summer school.
Students can also complete the summer school registration process at Westmoor front office with the drop-in counseling during June 2 - June 6, 2025 from 8:30am to 1:30pm.
Students who are interested in taking the acceleration/enrichment courses (Math course 3, Spanish 1, and a CTE class) will need to submit an application through this link.
Honored and Acknowledged in April
Join us this Autism Acceptance Month in celebrating and promoting understanding, acceptance, and inclusive resources for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Learn the signs, symptoms, and realities of ASD. Let's work together to promote acceptance and inclusion in our everyday lives for those living with ASD!
Did you know public schools educate 9 out of 10 students? Public schools ensure every student – no matter who they are – has access to quality education. They play a crucial role in providing essential resources to families and community members all across our country. Join us in honoring our public schools and their incredible impact on shaping the future!
Volunteers demonstrate their commitment to public education by investing their time and expertise in schools and educational programs every day. Thank you to all school volunteers who give so generously of your time and efforts! We could not envision our school communities without you.
Join us in celebrating Arab American and MENA Heritage Month this April. The Arab and MENA American community is incredibly diverse, with an estimated 3.7 million people who vary in race, religion, and more. Yet, they share strong family values, a dedicated work ethic, and a commitment to education and the greater community.
April is School Library Month, an annual celebration sponsored by the American Association of School Librarians (AASL). Libraries provide a welcoming space where students can explore new ideas, develop literacy skills, and foster a lifelong love of reading.
Our second-year CTE students from Westmoor, Terra Nova, and Jefferson took a big step toward their futures at the Next Step Event, a powerful collaboration between Jefferson Union High School District and Skyline College!
This event was all about preparing students for life beyond high school—exploring postsecondary options and gaining essential career readiness skills. We were honored to have an impactful keynote speaker, Abe Talakai, from Local 617, Electricians Union, who inspired our students with his insights on how to prepare for their Next Steps!
A huge thank you to Skyline College and all of our amazing industry partners for making this event impactful and inspiring!
Special appreciation to Cristina Lewis and Karina Gamez for coordinating this event, and to all of our JUHSD CTE teachers for the dedication and hard work they put in every day to support and empower our students!
Want to shape the future workforce? Become a CTE Industry Partner! Fill out this form to get involved.
Westmoor High School
Last weekend, Westmoor turned up the glam at SF City Hall for an unforgettable Viva Las Vegas themed Prom Night! 💃🕺 Huge thanks to everyone who came and made it a night to remember! 🎶🥂
Special shout-out to Class of 2025 Advisor Mr. Joe & our Student Activities Director Mr. Simon for making the magic happen!
Oceana High School
Interim Week is an experiential and exploratory opportunity for student growth beyond one's usual class schedule. It includes opportunities for community building and creates a sense of belonging. Courses accomplish these goals by working towards some of the following learning outcomes:
Learning or improving a skill
Exploring a place off-campus
Being artistic and creative
Exploring potential passions and readying oneself for college and/or career
Exposure to a new culture
Building self-confidence
Stepping outside one's comfort zone
Creating a collective project
Working together toward a group goal
Having an exciting and/or challenging shared experience with their peers

TNHS Black Student Union
Terra Nova's Black Student Union recently had the incredible opportunity to visit the Black Panther Museum in Oakland. This experience provided students with a deeper understanding of the history, impact, and legacy of the Black Panther Party in the fight for social justice and community empowerment.
Students explored themes of activism, leadership, and cultural pride. We are proud of Terra Nova's BSU members for their commitment to learning and for embracing opportunities to connect with history in powerful ways.
Thank you to our staff and chaperones who helped make this experience possible!
Share a Step of Kindness!
For 17 years, the Terra Nova Asian Club has partnered with Project Malasakit to provide brand-new flip-flops to Aeta indigenous children in Luzon, Philippines, many of whom walk barefoot to school. Something as small as a pair of slippers can bring comfort, protection, and dignity to their daily journey.
Founded by Kara David —an award-winning Filipino journalist, host, professor, and educational administrator—Project Malasakit is dedicated to supporting underserved children through education and essential aid.
Donations accepted until April 14 Drop off at Terra Nova High School
Cash and check donations (made out to Terra Nova High School) are also welcome if you don’t have time to purchase flip-flops.
