A Message from Ms. Curry
👻🎃👻🎃
Trunk or Treat is this weekend! We hope to see you all there on Sunday from 3:00 pm - 4:30pm. Thank you to all who volunteered to decorate a trunk as well as all of the families that sent in candy. We hope everyone has a blast at this always popular event!
Our Halloween parade and parties will be celebrated on Thursday, October 31st. Students may wear their costumes to school provided they can safely ride the bus and participate in all classroom learning activities. If you prefer, your child can bring their costume to school and change before the parade. Please note that costume weapons are not permitted.
Kindergarten - 5th grade will parade in the front of the school at 10:00 am. Parents can view our parade from the parking lot.
In the event of inclement weather, the indoor parade times are as follows:
Kindergarten - 2nd grade - 10:00 am (Parents permitted in the school at 9:55am)
3rd Grade - 5th grade- 2:30 pm (Parents permitted in the school at 2:25pm)
If we need to move the parade indoors, you will be notified the day before via a Real Time notification.
If you are participating in our Veterans Day Wall of Honor, please send completed frames to school by November 2nd.
Check out the flyers in this newsletter for information on the Turkey Brook Flag design contest and World Kindness Day. Lead by our Kindness Ambassador team, we are partnering with Mt. Olive Kiwanis Club's Caring With Bears program, raising funds to provide our local police and fire departments with comfort bears.
Enjoy your weekend! Hope to see you all at our Halloween parade.
Warmly,
Ms. Curry

Notes from our School Nurse, Mrs. Suzanne Herbst
It is that sweet time of the year! Apple picking, cider donuts and confused bees! Bee and wash nests are mature when fall arrives which means more bees and wasps are sent out in search of food for themselves and their queen. So you're seeing these insects more frequently simply because there are more of them and they're on the move. Bees continue to forage for nectar and pollen as long as temperatures are above 55 degrees. They're looking for carbohydrates and sweets, which are their primary energy source! They get a little confused in this changing weather so careful! Here is more information on what to do if you are stung by a bee or wasp.
