FMS students and staff participated in a soccer tournament during HERD last Friday as we headed into spring break. It was a fun atmosphere as both students and staff enjoyed the competitive culture and time to have some fun as a campus.

Congrats to our 7th/8th grade team for taking home the bragging rights!

Let's pause, breathe and notice, so we can respond more mindfully.

Mindfulness is the practice of focusing on the present moment, and observing your thoughts and feelings in a non-judgmental way.
It's basically thinking about your thoughts! And if it's our THINKING that makes up our REALITY, then it makes good sense to spend some time paying attention to your thoughts.
Choosing to be mindful can be as simple as stopping to notice things a little more throughout your day; or focusing on something specific of your choosing, or just being. So many of us go through the day reacting to everything that is happening around us without taking any time to respond or reflect on what is happening inside us.

The good news is that we are in control of how we choose to respond to life!
Mindfulness can be done anywhere, anytime, by anyone.

The week before Spring Break is full of excited students and can be quite stressful for everyone who works at any school! Taking the time to slow down can be a game-changer.
So let's pause, breathe and choose to live mindfully this month. By cultivating inner peace we can contribute to peace in the world around us too.
