Hooray for Pre-K

The prekindergarten report card can be viewed online in Skyward very soon. Most of the skills will say "NA"- not applicable for this first grading period. The only section with grades is LIFE SKILLS. "SD" is for Still Developing, "N" is for Needs Improvement. "D" is NOT FAILING for PreK- it is for Developed.

Each six weeks we will assess a few more skills. Look over the skills to see what you can practice at home in addition to what your child is learning at school.

Families and Friends: How do families and friends care for one another? Friends use kind words.

Colors- review: red, blue, green and yellow

Shapes- Review Circle, Square, and Oval (round/not round)

Writing - introduce touch, pull down - review: strokes up and down

Math - comparing 1-4 objects / counting on to 4

Reading - Letters Aa/Mm, segmenting sentences and identifies similarities and differences in characteristics of families.

Remember: ON FRIDAY'S ONLY! We would love to honor your child on their special day! We know it means so much to them to share it with their friends. Please contact your child's teacher so you can find out how many students are in the class.

Please make sure your child has an extra pair of clothes in their backpack for emergencies. Sometimes we don't make it down to the bathroom in time or we spill our lunch on ourselves. Having an extra pair of shorts/pants and underwear in a baggie will keep us from having to call you in the middle of class. We can just change and clean up and get back to learning.
