Spotlight
on Kindergarten and Eighth Grade Buddy Days
January 4, 2022
The eighth graders and the kindergarteners are "buddy classes" with each other. Together, they participate in different activities throughout the school year. So far this year, the eighth graders and kindergarteners made catapults to learn about the concept of force. Students used popsicle sticks and rubber bands to make their catapults. Then they used candy pumpkins and launched them to see how far the pumpkins would travel.
In December, the students paired up again to complete a STEM Challenge. Their challenge was to create a gingerbread house that would stand on its own. Students used graham crackers and frosting to build their frame of the gingerbread house. Then they used candies to decorate the gingerbread house. What fun they had!
