• IDs are to be worn for all scholars or purchase temp. (New to campus/district will recieve new IDs this week due to machine updates. There will be no penalty.)
• Please refrain from early scholar dismissal after 2:20p as we prepare for campus dismissal.

Scholars can earn 11 volunteer hours for joining PTSA. Parents can add an additional 14 hours for scholars by joining PTSA as well for a total of 25 hours. Only one parent is required per household.

The district charge policy states that a scholar will be allowed to charge a maximum of three (3) meals to their account after the balance reaches zero. After that, the scholar will receive an alternative lunch meal. This meal will consist of a Sun Butter and Jelly sandwich or a cheese sandwich. However, we will continue with regular lunch meals served to all scholars, regardless of reaching the charge limit, until September 1, 2022.

As a CHISD parent you have a few options for your child’s lunch meals:

• Send your child to school with a nutritional sack lunch from home

• Complete the free and reduced lunch form to see if your child qualifies for free lunch at school. You can access the form here. CHISD will take applications and use family income to qualify scholars for free, reduce-price, or paid meals.

Allow your child to purchase their lunch at school. You will need to create an account on MyPaymentsPlus and add funds to your child’s account. You can access MyPaymentsPlus here.

Please make sure your scholars are not texting or calling out during classtime. Scholars may have their phones out during morning arrival, lunch, and dismissal. Teachers may confiscate phones if they are out without permission.

All classes for the college starts this week.

• 9/10 graders will have classes on campus
• Juniors and Seniors will travel to CVC by way of bus @7:10a or car
• Take time to visit the campus today or Sunday before scholars arrive on Monday

Car drop off is at door 15, starting at 6:55a. Doors will remain open until 7:35a. However, scholars are tardy after 7:25a. They must be in class to be counted present/not tardy.

Please help us keep your scholars safe. Encourage your scholars to look for your car and follow our instructions.

Grades 6-10

All scholars in Academy and grades 9-10 will wear uniforms. We are continuing with patches this school year. PTSA will be the contact for patches. You may pre-order here (Pre-Order Collegiate Patches). Scholars are expected to be in their uniform shirt and pants on the first day of school (not patches). Patches are to be placed on the left side of the chest. IDs must be worn at all times.

Starting September 6, 2022, all uniforms must have patches.

• Collegiate Pathway scholars wear red or black shirts with collar and patch.
• Black or khaki pants/shorts/capris/skirts/jumpers
• Solid color red or black sweaters, cardigans, hoodies, and sweatshirts

• School-issued hoodies or sweatshirts
• Red, black or gray CHISD spirit hoodie or CHISD spirit sweatshirt
• Solid color red or black collared shirt with collegiate patch must be worn under sweater, cardigans, hoodies or sweatshirt
• Jackets and heavy winter coats – any style or color
• Solid color red or black collared shirt with collegiate patch must be worn under jacket or coat

Scholars will have uniforms for PE. There is a $20 fee for the short set and $46 for the sweats. The athletic gear will come from the district's athletic department. Your payment will be made through mypaymentsplus.

Scholars in grades: 6, 7, & 9 attend PE. It takes about 2-4 weeks for delivery from the time you order. All orders must be completed by August 26, 2022. Scholars will need combination locks for lockers. (You may reach out to Coach S. Williams for more information at scarlett.williams@chisd.net.)

Parties wishing to contact an administator regarding a specific teacher or student are encouraged to resolve the matter by following the steps below:

Step One: Contact the teacher and have a meeting/phone conference

Step Two: Contact the Grade level Principal (6-8, Dr. Johnson, Grades 9-12 Mrs. Dunn) (discipline concerns) or Counselor (schedule/grades/mental health/academic advisement)

Step Three: Contact the Building Principal (if a school-wide concern, this becomes step one)
