Four Houses...One GSFE Family
We had our first House Picnic with our teams last week. Our staff and students enjoyed lunch outside on the playground. The weather was perfect and the time with our students was even better.
The picnic gave students the opportunity to interact and get to know their teammates and other adults from across the building.
We can't wait for our next House meeting. All four House families will gather together to cheer their team on. We can't wait to see which House will show the most spirit.

Our students are working hard to earn badges for their House.
Team Amistad won back to back badges for having the best bus behavior and the most students wearing House colors. Congratulations, Team Amistad!
This week, we are working to earn another Behavior Blitz badge.
GSFE Students of the Week (Week of September 27)
Students of the week are nominated weekly by teachers in the building. These students demonstrate great character and give their personal best! Congratulations!

The Library Corner with Ms. Brown and Ms. Matthews
Next week, October 7-11, is our Fall Book Fair. This Book Fair is going to be bigger and better than ever! Students will have an opportunity to visit and shop with their class. Students may also bring their parents to the Book Fair after Pastries with Parents. Purchases can be made with cash, credit/debit cards, or checks made payable to Scholastic. If you would prefer not to send money with your child, you can also set up a Scholastic eWallet account by visiting https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/content/fairs/ewallet.html. Click on Find Your Fair, search for our school, and then follow the prompts to create an account for your child. This fundraiser helps provide books, furniture, and other materials for students to use in our library. We appreciate everyone's support of our Book Fair!
Read Marathon also begins next Tuesday, October 8. Students will receive a reading log on Monday and will track their minutes until Monday, November 4. The class who reads the most minutes will win a party during their library time and the House who reads the most minutes will win a badge!
