We had a wonderful week filled with learning, laughter, and fun. Our Walk and Roll to School event was a success—thank you to everyone who participated and made it such a memorable experience. Your partnership is essential, and together, we’re helping our students grow in so many ways. We truly appreciate all that you do, and we’re looking forward to another great week ahead. Brand new"ish" news...

•Unity Day~ is October 16 - Wear and Share Orange! Wear orange on Unity Day to show we will stand up against bullying and stand up for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion at Sunset! Any orange will do- shirts, headbands, shoelaces, socks, etc.

•Read-A-Thon~ Thank you Sunset Families for participating in the Read-a-Thon! Please finish logging minutes (only minutes through the end of today 10/11 count towards the read-a-thon). If you have pledges to collect for minutes read, start collecting those this weekend. All donations need to be submitted online or turned in to teachers by Friday Oct. 18th. If you used paper pledge and reading logs forms, please turn those into by Oct. 18th as well. Winners will be announced once all forms are collected and prizes will likely be distributed the week of Nov. 4th.

•Halloween Carnival~ is almost here! Please join us on October 20th for Spooktacular Fun!

•The Great California ShakeOut Drill October 18th~ We will be holding our annual drill on Friday, October 18th at 10:30AM where the EOC (Emergency Operations Center) at the District office will be activated to better prepare us for an emergency.

•First Two Public Hearings for By-Trustee Area Election Transition Next Week- Two pre-map public hearings related to our transition to by-trustee area board elections beginning in 2026 will be:

•Invitation to Apply to the Parcel Tax Oversight Committee~ The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District invites the Livermore community to apply for two positions on the Parcel Tax Citizens' Oversight Committee. Applications are available online or at the front desk at 685 E. Jack London Blvd., Livermore. Make an impact in your community, serve on the Parcel Tax Committee! The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District invites the Livermore community to apply for two positions on the Parcel Tax Citizens' Oversight Committee. Members serve a two-year term. Members of the senior community and business community are encouraged to apply. Applications are available online or at the front desk at 685 E. Jack London Blvd., Livermore.

•Fun Runners~ Started September 25th. All grades welcome. TK and Kinder students must be supervised by guardian and walked to class by guardian. Non-Sunset younger siblings are welcome, but must be supervised. All school rules apply.

•Halloween Carnival~ October 20th The season of spooks and sweets is near, and we’re ready to celebrate with all our cheer! Join the Spook-tacular Fun at Sunset’s Annual Halloween Carnival!

Attached is our **Sunset’s Annual Halloween Carnival Flyer**, your ticket to a day filled with frightful fun and delight! From spooky games to delicious treats, it’s the perfect place for our community to meet.
Dress up in your favorite costume and come out to play, let’s make this carnival a spectacular day!

In accordance with security guidance, IT has updated student passwords to 9-digits. That means students with 8-digit student IDs will need to add a leading zero and students with 7-digit student IDs will need to add two leading zeros to be able to log in. Students with 9-digit student IDs or who had previously changed their password to a personal password were not affected.

If students need help, they can get help from their teachers when school starts.
