A Message From the Principal
As we gear up for the final week of quarter 3, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support in guiding our students toward finishing the quarter on a high note. Your partnership is invaluable in our collective mission to nurture and empower leading learner.
Women’s History Month is celebrated in March. In the United States, Women's History Month traces its beginning back to the first International Women’s Day in 1911. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, let us also lift up the voices, contributions and bravery of women in the margins. This Women’s History Month, is about intentionally devoting time for our celebrating and amplifying women’s contributions to academia, art and popular culture.
Spring is approaching and learning is in full swing here at Skyline South Phoenix. As you may know, this is a time of year that students make the most academic and social learning improvements. Make school a priority. We already see the weather starting to change, with spring right around the corner. It can be challenging to keep our children focused on learning. What can you do to make school a top priority for your child? Keep these ideas in mind:
- Make attendance your number one priority. Let your child know that unless they are sick, they must attend school (and be on time.) Make an effort to schedule appointment after school hours.
- Show you care. Talk about school activities and projects. Make an effort to attend as many school events as you can.
- Remain positive. Try to set a positive example for your child, even when your own day has been challenging. If you show a positive attitude about your work, your child may feel better about their own.
As always, your Skyline South Campus school family extends our warmest wishes to you and your loved ones, especially during the upcoming one-week Spring Break from March 10th to 17th.
Let’s finish strong together!

Lost & Found
Everyday boys and girls are leaving their coats, jackets, sweaters, hats, and lunch boxes on the school grounds. Those items without student’s names are picked up and brought to our lost and found located in building 1 front office. During the school year when the pile gets high we donate these items to missions and shelters. During spring break we will be donating any items left in our lost and found as well. Please be sure to check or have your child check the lost and found by Friday, March 7th.
AASA Testing Schedule
Our W ildly I mportant G oal (W.I.G.) for testing is 100% participation. We need support from home in order to achieve this goal. Mark your calendar for grade-level testing day for your student.
Please pay close attention to the 3rd-8th grade testing schedule. Students arriving after testing has begun will not be allowed in the classroom. Once testing begins, students are confirmed as being "tested," for this reason, we will not call students out of the classroom early. Make sure you are not scheduling appointments that conflict with the schedule below. Reach out to your student's teacher/s if you have additional questions.
This year, only high school students will have Remote Instruction days, they are marked on the schedule. The purpose is to ensure we have the most ideal test taking environment. On the days marked Remote Instruction, we have a large number of students who are not testing and this would keep the hallway noise to a minimum.
Attendance Corner
A friendly reminder: please ensure that you report your child’s absence from school either in advance or promptly at the time of absence. Your timely communication with us is greatly appreciated.
In the event of an absence without notification, we will make every effort to reach you via your Infinite Campus contact list. Therefore, it's essential that we have up-to-date contact information. Should your contact details change, kindly inform us immediately.
Please also inform us if your child will be absent for an extended period, as students absent for ten (10) consecutive "unexcused" school days may face withdrawal from the school. Additionally, if your home address has changed, please notify our office staff promptly.
