INFORMATION AND PROPOSALS

School Administration Reports

  • All back to school events--faculty and staff retreat, new employee orientation, teacher inservice week, and all campus open houses and orientations--were a success.
  • PTO has been working hard and has many things planned for the school year.
  • STEM, Drama, Band, Choir, and Bulldog News started the second week of school at the Middle School.
  • K-6 teachers participated in new literacy curriculum trainings.
  • Fr. Daniel will do adoration and classroom visits at the Elementary and Middle School campuses once a month.
  • Due to a continued partnership with UCA this year, Coach Bruich will have two teacher interns two days a week.
  • Administrators have consulted with CPS and St. Theresa Catholic School in Little Rock for guidance and resources for working with English Language Learners and their families.
  • Several SJHS students are enrolled in Conway Area Career Center and Virtual Arkansas courses.

  • 2024-2025 SJS Prek-12 Enrollment Update
    • New Students K-12: 44
    • SJES: 14 (does not include K)
    • SJMS: 14
    • SJHS: 16
  • A Fall 2024 exploratory committee has been formed to discuss the K-6/Preschool/Family Activity Center facilities project/timeline.
  • Latino Enrollment Institute was attended by Dr. Tucker, Mrs. Blanca Ramirez, and Fr. Daniel.
  • A new School Cultural Committee made of faculty, staff, and seven seniors has been developed.

    Committee Reports

    PUBLIC RELATIONS

    • The school website, newsletters, and announcements has translation capabilities to help our ESL families.
    • 5 students represented SJS in the August “Making the Grade” issue of 501 Life magazine.
    • Parent Ambassadors helped with the New Parent Orientation. 51 parents of new students attended the event.
    • Community Partnership Program has 19 Community Partners so far for the 2024-2025 school year supporting the school, athletics, bazaar, and tuition assistance.

    BUILDINGS & GROUNDS

    • Gym updates complete and look great.
    • North of Middle School has some construction due to Harkrider expansion.

    BAZAAR

    • No final numbers on the 2024 Bazaar; invoices still out.
    • The Bazaar committee will be meeting next month to evaluate all aspects.

    PASTOR'S REPORT

    • Fr. John will be on a pilgrimage later in September to visit Ireland.
