Lincoln, Logan, & McPherson 4-H
October #2 2022
A Note from Miss Caitlyn
Dear Lincoln, Logan & McPherson County 4-H Families,
The wait is over! 4-H enrollment is now open for the 2022-2023 year. Visit v2.4honline.com to enroll today. Please do not hesitate to email me or call the office with questions. We are ready for another great year of learning and growth.
I highly encourage any volunteers/leaders to attend the volunteer road show training coming up in November. There are opportunities to attend in person in Rushville (Nov 1), Broken Bow (Nov 2), Concord (Nov 9) & Seward (Nov 10). A virtual training will be held via zoom on November 6 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. CST. This will be a great educational event to help us best serve the youth in our counties. Please see below for more information about times and what the training will cover. We truly appreciate everything our volunteers and leaders do. Our 4-H program would not be as successful without your help.
Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns,
Miss Caitlyn

Interested in the Citizenship Washington Focus Trip – June 2023?
Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) is a civic education and leadership program organized by National 4-H Council and held at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland every summer for high school youth between the ages of 15 to 19 years of age. 4-H delegates from across the country broaden their appreciation and respect for themselves and others in the world through civic workshops, committees, field trips and social events.
Youth participants learn and practice skills intended to make them better citizens and successful individuals. Youth who have attended in the past have exhibited the following measurable outcomes:
· Strengthened communication, leadership, and citizenship skills.
· Increased understanding of civic and social responsibilities as they relate to the development of better citizens and leaders; and
· Improved respect, networking, and camaraderie with other youth from diverse backgrounds.
This is an educational program that requires a lot of planning and I feel part of this is for the youth members to plan their finances well ahead of the trip. The program will cost $3,500 per participant. Interested youth who are currently enrolled in 4-H may be eligible for a small scholarship through the Lincoln Co. 4-H council.

Clubs of Excellence
The overall goal of 4-H Clubs is to develop enthusiastic young people who boldly take action to demonstrate life skills as capable, caring, competent kids of character thus contributing to the improvement of themselves, their family, their club, their community, and their world. One way clubs might choose to measure their success in meeting that goal is their ability to gain status as a Nebraska 4-H Club of Excellence.
To receive the designation as a Nebraska 4-H Club of Excellence, clubs must meet a certain set of criteria and document how this criterion was met. Clubs meeting the requirements will initially receive a certificate. In subsequent years clubs successfully meeting the requirements will receive a special insignia to place on their certificate. Clubs must apply annually to receive this recognition. Get a jump start on meeting these goals within your club. Deadline to submit your documentation is September 15th each year.
