At the Beach Blitz Tournament this weekend, our Engineers who made it to the FINAL ROUND when Canyon Crest Academy picked them for their Championship Alliance!

The information is collected to support Federal Impact Aid funding and is kept confidential. Impact Aid funds are designated to assist school districts that enroll federally-connected students. This includes children of active duty uniformed services personnel, children who live on federal property or in subsidized federal housing, and children whose parents are employed on eligible federal property.

Impact Aid funds become part of the district's general operating budget and support instructional activities for all students.

At your next opportunity, we ask you to please sign-in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and complete the short survey, following the steps below:

• Select Forms from the left-hand navigation menu, then select 2024-25 Impact Aid Program Survey Form under Annual Forms.

• Follow the prompts and submit the form. Please be sure a confirmation appears before logging off.

• If you need assistance, or do not yet have a Parent Portal account, please contact Vella Rogers at erogers1@sandi.net. Visit our support website for more information.

• For parents using the PowerSchool mobile app, you can submit the survey using the app.

We ask that you complete the Federal Impact Aid Survey by November 15th. Students will also receive a paper survey to bring home. Families may choose to complete either the electronic or paper survey.

By completing the survey, you will increase the chances of your child’s school receiving more of this valuable funding.

We are kicking off our partnership with ECC NEXT SEMESTER! We are starting with an HVAC program. Here are the details:

1. 20 Positions available for the Lincoln HS Class of 2025 students in Second Semester

2. HVAC Program is a one semester program (2 classes)

1. Students would complete BOTH required classes between Jan and June 2025

2. Students will graduate with an HVAC Certificate at the end of the program

3. EEC will provide support and tutorials to prepare all students for the exit test.

4. ECC will work to confirm guaranteed interviews for jobs for any student who successfully finishes the program

5. ECC will provide interview and resume support

3. Students will be entered into an ‘internship’ class led by Lori Williams to track their attendance/expectation

• The Jackie Robinson is welcoming our students to their teen center to participate in after school activities. No membership is required to attend the events. • San Diego PRIDE is hosting a leadership Conference for LGBTQ+ youth, young adults, parents, and youth-serving professionals on Saturday, November 16th from 8:45am-3:30pm at the Educational Cultural Complex (4343 Ocean View Blvd, SD, CA 92113). • This club is dedicated to helping First Generation students get to college. Throughout this program you will receive mentorship, information, and also something to put on your resume for when it is time to apply to colleges.

Need help with assignments, and looking to clear some absences? Saturday school happens every weekend (when there is no major holiday) as an opportunity to clear unexcused absences/tardies, and work on assignments. We are excited to introduce the Lincoln High School Center for Newcomer families, a dedicated space for newly arrived students and their families to get acquainted with our district’s resources, programs, and opportunities. The center is designed to be a welcoming environment where families can share their cultures, backgrounds, and goals, ensuring that every student feels valued and prepared to succeed in school.

We will be on Lincoln High School campus every Thursday. Students and families can make appointments by visiting our website at sdusdmed.org/newcomer-support. Translation services are available if an appointment is scheduled.
