Early Literacy Videos

Early Literacy is everything a child knows about reading and writing before he or she can read or write. They need to learn about sounds, words, language, books and stories. Consultant, Ohio Improvement Process

As a consultant with State Support Team 9, Jen Griffing is passionate about encouraging, equipping and empowering homes and classrooms through early language and literacy experiences. Knowing these interactions support strong relationships and healthy learning and development, Jen believes engaging families and educators is an opportunity to create meaningful impact in the lives of children.

Jen earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Malone University along with a K-12 Reading Endorsement. Her Master of Education Degree is in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Educational Leadership from Ashland University. Prior to joining the State Support Team, Jen was an educator in the primary classroom and later worked in the community as a Family Equipping Director, providing resources and ideas for families to make the most of their daily routines and experiences.
