LOST & FOUND
If your child’s lost sock, forgotten lunchbox, or mysteriously vanishing jacket could talk, we’re pretty sure they'd start a support group for misplaced items. Our Lost and Found is like a magical realm where lonely mittens and rogue water bottles go on exciting adventures. So, if your child is suddenly claiming they don’t know where their favorite hoodie is, it’s probably hanging out with a few stray hats and a lunch bag that’s been making friends with a pair of sunglasses. Please swing by and reunite with these items—they’ve been waiting for you!
STAFF CORNER
Notes from the Family Ambassador
Please note the Ohio State Testing is approaching and we have had some date changes for our ELA (English Language Arts) testing. The new dates will be on March 25th and March 27th.
As Ohio State Testing approaches, there are several ways you can help your student feel more prepared and confident. It's important to ensure they get a good night's sleep before the test day, as rest is key to focus and energy. Encourage them to eat a healthy breakfast on test days, as a balanced meal can improve concentration. Lastly, create a calm and positive environment, helping your student manage any test-related stress by reminding them that doing their best is what truly matters. Your support in these steps can make a huge difference in their performance. If your student is the kind who feels a little anxious around test taking, make them more comfortable with a practice test. Here is a link for the practice test by grade level.
It's also important to understand why this assessment is significant for our school. The results of these tests help us measure how well students are mastering the skills they need to succeed academically. This data is crucial for teachers and administrators to identify areas where students may need additional support and to tailor our teaching methods accordingly. Additionally, the test results play a role in shaping decisions about school funding, resources, and improvements. While the tests are just one part of your child’s learning experience, they provide valuable insights that help us ensure all students are getting the best education possible. Your support in helping your child prepare for this test plays a key role in our school's overall success.
Thank you for helping set them up for success!
We love to learn!

School Counselor Update
Thank you to all of the families that took the time to take the Panorama survey! We hit our goals and couldn't have done it without your awesome participation. We really appreciate your time and value your input.
The PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Rewards) team will be looking at the data next month to see where we can improve as a school to better serve everyone's needs. As always, feel free to reach out with any concerns or questions.
Multicultural Night! April 3rd
We will be celebrating our Gables Community at our Multicultural Night on Thursday April 3, 2025 at 5:30pm. WE NEED YOUR HELP! This week, students should have brought home a flyer with information on how you can participate. There is a variety of ways to get involved:
- Providing a Potluck Dish: This dish can be traditional to your culture or represent a culture other than your own.
- Performing a Cultural Presentation: Enlist your cultural talents (sing, dance, play an instrument, etc.). Inform us if you know of a person or group who would be willing to share their cultural talent.
- Setting up a Display: Share a country's flag, photos, maps, or items of cultural significance.
- Wearing traditional attire: Represent different cultures with traditional dress and join us in a fashion show.
- Volunteering: Help us set up and clean up the event.
If you would like to get involved, please fill out the form that was send home or email Amy Ankeney at aankeney6984@columbus.k12.oh.us
