Board appointments: Jesse Hall reappointed to Public Safety Sales Tax Committee (Oversees Police/Fire PSST expenditures); Rocky McLaughlin replaces Rich Andrews on Board of Zoning Adjustment (Hears hardships from Zoning regulations); Bill Griffey III replaces Bill Griffey II on the Enhanced Enterprise Zone Board (Prepares annual report to MO Dept. Economic Development); Melinda Mehaffy replaces Steve Marriott as the City Representative on the Vintage Community Improvement District Board (Administers CID sales tax in Vintage Shopping District).
City leases idle agricultural acreage for crops to Kyle Tracy, Richmond. Fifty-seven acres at Water Treatment Plant will be leased at $165/ac./year and 54 acres at Wastewater Treatment Plant will be leased at $125/ac./year for three years. Mr. Tracy was high bidder of two bids received.
Key Project Updates
- Planning/Zoning recommends approval of Miller Cabinets Final Plat; will be sent to City Council for approval. [Funding: Pending] WHY? Miller Cabinets adequately addressed development requirements.
- Visioning session this month featured Re-purposing the Hall of Waters - About 27 people attended and shared their ideas. [Funding: None]WHY? The building is an anchor to tourism industry; it needs to be used in ways that attract people to enjoy it, like Union Station.
- Northland CAPS students assigned to assist HR create new hire paperwork for electronic submittal. [Funding: None]WHY? Partnership opportunity/student skill development; needed to improve electronic applications.
- Street Division receives salt & sand supplies in preparation for wintry weather. [Funding: Transportation Trust] WHY? Supplies are purchased at better price and availability before winter; deliveries over the next two weeks will replenish stockpile.
- Several miscellaneous repairs are underway: Repairs to Scada alarms at WWTP; Rebuilding Well #9 pump; Correct electrical issues with Well #11; N HWY tower motor #2 out of service; blower motor & level sensor on dust collector on lime silo contract awarded; bidding mixer motor & gear box to fix air compressor; and cleaning raw water line. [Funding: Water & Sewer Rates] WHY? Routine & emergency repairs necessary for continuous improvement.
