JM student volunteers will pot tree and shrub seedlings on Wednesday, April 2nd from 2:45-5:15pm and Thursday, April 3rd from 2:45-5:15pm. Sign up for one or both potting events via Sign Up Genius BEFORE March 21st at the following link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0C4AAFAE28AAF5C25-tree.
JM students will meet outside the front doors of JM at 2:45pm and walk with an adult volunteer to Old Mill Park and back to JM. Students who are taking an 'Activity' bus home MUST get their bus slip from the office PRIOR to leaving the school. The event will take place in the covered pavilion to the right of the Restroom Building and held rain or shine. Please dress for the weather, walking, and working with potting soil. Questions? Service Project #2
Tree Fredericksburg Mulching Event in Idlewild, across the street from the new Middle School (2280 Idlewild Blvd, 22401 @ Gateway & Idlewild Blvds)
Volunteers will mulch trees on Saturday, April 12th, from 9-11:30am. Gloves and tools will be provided. Please bring a water bottle.
Use the following Sign Up Genius link and click on the button to sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0C4AAFAE28AAF5C25-55665391-mulching
Background: JM students planted 220 trees November 2023 for the Veterans Day of Service. Volunteers will be mulching these trees. The trees were planted across the street from the new Middle School with the idea that they would fill the space and deter noise and pollution from Interstate 95.
