Class of 2025
Every senior needs a cap and gown!!!
Follow this link!
- You must order a “cap and gown unit.” ($39.00) You will need to submit your height and weight information and make payment for the product at that time.
- There are other items you may want to order as well, which can be ordered as part of a package or separately. Graduation announcements are also available. If you wish to order those, you will need to do it by December 15th.
Key Club School Supply Drive
Key Club, in cooperation with George Mason University's Engineers for International Development, will be collecting school supplies for a community in Costa Rica. This is the second year Key Club and EFID have worked together. Donations will go to la escuela de Los Andes. Donations can be brought to the front office and the back locker bay. Donations will be accepted until next Monday, December 16th

The Key Club will meet Monday, December 16, afterschool in the lecture hall.
Spanish Club, 12/17
The Spanish Club will be meeting Tuesday, December 17th after school in room 134. For more information see Mrs. Cuevas.
Tabletop Society, 12/11 & 12/18
The JMHS Tabletop Society will be meeting on Wednesdays, December 11th & 18th after school in room 204. Students and staff are welcome to come and play their favorite board, card, and role-playing games. Maybe learn some new ones too.
2026 Spring Break trip to England and Scotland
Enrollment for the 2026 Spring Break trip to England and Scotland is now OPEN! Any JM student is welcome to enroll for the trip. The deadline to enroll with the discount is Friday, December 13th. The link to enroll can be found on the Daily Announcements page. If you have questions about the trip, come see Ms. Hard or Mr. Wright.
SCA, Winter Snow Ball, RESCHEDULED
Ms. Hard will be available on Friday, December 13th during all three lunch waves to purchase your ticket for the Winter Formal. Tickets will be buy one, get one free! Buy one ticket for $15 and get one for a friend! Guest forms for the dance are due on Wednesday, January 22nd and are available in the front office.
Sister City exchange with Fréjus, France
Thinking about next summer?!? Perhaps you are interested in spending a few weeks in FRANCE?
The Fredericksburg-Fréjus Sister City Association is currently accepting applications for their exchange program in July 2025 with Fréjus, France. The trip will take place in early July and will include 10 to 12 days in Fréjus followed by 3 to 4 days in Paris. Ideally students should be between 15 and 17 years old and have completed 2 to 3 years of French (or more)! Students are individually hosted by local French correspondent and his/her family.

Applications are due January 15, 2025!
Help the JMHS Theatre Department
Greeting Arts Lovers! The JMHS Theatre Department has an ambitious lineup of shows and activities for students this year.
We will present our original One Act Play, Prompt: The AI Play on Friday, November 1st at 7pm. Following that there will be performances in December, a New York trip in February and our exciting spring musical Little Shop of Horrors April 10-12.
Parent and community donations go entirely towards show costs like costumes, scenery, props, and advertising. Please consider making a donation today by following the button below to the THEATRE DEPARTMENT online school payment page. Suggested donation of $25, but any amount helps!

- PSAT scores are in. If you have not already done so, you may pick up your scores from counseling.

Financial Aid 101, 12/5 & 12/12
Students, are you interested in learning about financial aid for college? Join the Virginia Department of Education for a Financial Aid 101 webinar that covers both federal and state financial aid and application tips. Register on the Virginia Department of Education website to attend on December 5th or December 12th from 6-7:15pm. The webinar sessions are free.

The scoop on scholarships and the FAFSA®
With the focus on how to finance continuing education during National Financial Aid Awareness month, seniors and families are encouraged to pursue scholarships. A scholarship is financial support awarded to a student based on academic achievement, need, or other criteria for the purpose of schooling. There are various types of scholarships and criteria that are determined by the awarding organization that also specifies how the money is to be applied.

2025–26 FAFSA®
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, known as the FAFSA, officially opened last Thursday. FAFSA® Application | Federal Student Aid.
Who should complete the FAFSA® form? Any student, regardless of income, who wants to be considered for federal, state, and school financial aid programs. This includes grants, scholarships, work-study funds, and loans.
Germanna's Early College Program
Germanna's Early College Program is looking for the Class of 2027! Early College allows students to work toward their high school diploma AND a transferable associate's degree at the same time! Buy Your Parking Pass!
Every student who drives to school and parks on campus is required to purchase a parking permit for the student parking lot.
Bus Passes
In order to obtain a bus pass for a different bus, the student must turn in a note to the front office before lunch. We must confirm the note to be able to give the student a pass.
After School Policy
No Commercial Food Deliveries During School Day
Behind the Wheel
Any student who plans on taking the Behind the Wheel course this semester needs to email Mr Brown at debrown@cityschools.com and get registered. If you have already registered, you need to call and get a scheduled time to drive.
You are required to drive at least 3 days. Please include in your email a contact number so Mr Brown can schedule you.
