Scott E. Miller, Superintendent
Issue 13 - November 11, 2019
Dear SCH Family,
As we enter into the Thanksgiving season, one thing I’m especially grateful for are the people who makeup SCH and devote their lives to helping the children who attend our schools. Without your continued efforts, many lives would suffer and children might not have the bright futures they do now. It is because of many of you that children are experiencing victory over their life circumstances. Collectively we do make a difference and that is something to be thankful for.

Head Start
Wonder Wednesdays
Have you ever wondered if a dog can climb a tree, or about your bad dream last night, or what the animals have to eat or why it gets cold outside? If you have, then you’re not alone. These are some of the things that Head Start students have wondered about on Wonder Wednesdays. At drop-off time on Wednesdays, each student’s adult asks the student what he/she wonders about and then writes the wonder on a wonder cloud. The completed wonder cloud then gets posted on the classroom’s Wonder Wednesday board. Teaching staff follow up with the students to help find answers to and/or have a conversation about the wonders. These interactions not only increase the knowledge base of students, but also foster a development of trust and convey to students that their questions, wonders, ideas, etc. are important. What will you wonder about this Wednesday?
