Eagle's Nest
April 11, 2024
Hello Goalies,
I hope that you are having an amazing week. Thank you for joining us for the Solar Eclipse event. I appreciate Germantown Community Library hosting this event. Your enthusiasm for the event was so much fun!
Our next in-person event, for our students in Grades 6-12, will be Music Box Audio Production workshop, Friday, April 12, and I highly encourage you all to join us. Audio Production skills can be translated into a multitude of different job opportunities, and this is a unique experience to practice those skills with your classmates to support you!
We will begin TCAP testing Monday, April 15-Monday, April 22. Please review your individual TCAP schedule. All students will need to be on the Union University Campus, by 7:40 AM on their assigned test days. Thanks so much for your help with this.
Morning Meetings will be cancelled April 15-April 22.
Due to TCAP assessments, our morning meetings will be cancelled April 15-April 22.
Required State Testing April 15 - April 22
Parents and Students,
GOAL students in grades 2-11 will take the TCAP assessment April 15-22. Individual test schedules were emailed out April 2nd. If you have not received your schedule via email, please contact Ms. Carnathan.
What you need to know:
Testing Site: Union University - Germantown Campus (2745 Hacks Cross Road Germantown, TN)
Drop Off for Testing: Students need to arrive on campus for check in by 7:40 AM. (PLEASE NOTE: GOAL students will enter at the covered double doors in the back of the building.)
Testing Schedule: Please refer to the schedule below.
Please Note:
- Testing will begin promptly at 8:00 AM each morning. Late students won't be allowed in a room, once testing has begun. Students will need to wait with Ms. Carnathan, until the next subpart begins (if the test has a subpart). A make-up session will need to be scheduled for students missing parts of a test.
- The state of TN requires every student, in every tested subject, to participate in state testing. Schools are required to have a minimum 95% participation rate. We need your help to make this happen!
- Students will be given the fully allotted time for testing in all subjects. If you finish early - check your work!
- Students with phones will need to leave them turned off in the designated testing room space.
- Students may use their phones once the test administrator allows students to access phones.
- Students in grades 3-11 will need to bring their approved calculator for TCAP testing (when allowed by subject).
- Students may bring sweaters/jackets.
- Students in grades 3-11 will take the test on their fully charged GMSD Chromebook.
Dr. Fisher has provided an excess of time on this schedule to allow for testing delays/changes in testing time limits. In some cases, students may finish a little before or after 11 am.

April Actions
Fun Facts about Actions
Actions demonstrate rather than simply tell.
Actions demonstrate commitment and dedication.
Actions show that you are invested in the outcome and believe in what you are doing.
Actions become independent from motivation because unlike thoughts, actions give us immediate feedback.
Our actions represent our values.
"A well done is better than well said."

Inclement Weather: School Closures and GOAL
In the event that Germantown Municipal School District makes the decision to close GMSD schools, GOAL will also be closed. When school is closed, students are not required to work in Pearson. Students will not attend Morning Meetings. Students will have an additional 24 hours to submit school work, in the event that school is closed. We do encourage students when possible to continue with their school work to avoid missing deadlines.
