The SWIS SCOOP
Communication π£οΈ
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to an exciting school year at Swanson! We hope you and our children had a restful and enjoyable summer. We're thrilled to have you as partners in your child's education.
Our school is an amazing community, and your involvement is a crucial element in creating a positive and enriching learning environment. As we begin this new chapter together, we want to express our appreciation for your continued support, dedication, and engagement.
Throughout the year, you can look forward to various opportunities to connect with teachers, staff, and fellow parents. We believe that open communication is key to your child's success, which goes both ways, and we encourage you to actively participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and volunteer activities.
At SWIS, we are committed to providing a nurturing and caring environment where your child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We have an exciting year of educational activities, events and initiatives planned that we believe will make you and your child's experience well-rounded and meaningful.
As we start this journey together, let's work hand in hand and heart-to-heart, to support our students' growth and development. Should you have any questions, concerns, or ideas to share, please don't hesitate to reach out. Our door is always open, and we value your input. We are truly excited about what lies ahead and can't wait to see the progress and achievements that the coming year will bring.
Welcome back, and here's to a fantastic year of learning, exploration, and collaboration! Please be on the lookout for future emails in the upcoming weeks.
Yours in Education,
Dr. Susan Lopez
GRADE 5 BAND
One of the most exciting opportunities for students in Grade 5 is the ability to learn a band instrument. Students may choose from Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, or Percussion (bells and snare). Students will receive a 30 minute group lesson once every six days as a βpulloutβ from their schedule.
Instruments can be rented from our local music store, Gerryβs Music. Instruments will be available for pick up at our Fall Rental Night: Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 6:30-7:30 in the Auburn High School Cafeteria. We highly recommend renting an instrument - youβll receive a high quality instrument that will set your student up for success and will have any necessary repairs/needs covered under the rental agreement. A flyer is attached below with rental information and pricing. If finances prohibit you from renting an instrument, please reach out and we will assist you with procuring an instrument. A link has also been provided to register for the 2024-2025 Band Program.
