Myer & Lois Franklin Scholarship

Description:
Myer and Lois Franklin, life long residents of Jackson, Michigan, were highly appreciative of the success they enjoyed as a result of the opportunities afforded them in the Jackson community. In order to give back to others, they chose to leave a legacy of education. As strong believers in the power of education, the Myer and Lois Franklin Charitable Trust was established to be utilized as a vehicle for providing scholarships to residents of Jackson County.
The ability to give back to the community and the right to an education for all was of extreme importance to the Franklins. They created the trust to provide scholarships embracing all members of the Jackson community no matter what their background in an effort to promote acceptance and access to education to those seeking same.
All scholarship recipients are expected to be a role model for the Jackson community and to demonstrate the qualities and perform the activities which enabled them to be selected as an outstanding scholarship recipient.

MIT THINK Scholars Program
Description:
The THINK Scholars Program is an educational outreach initiative that promotes science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by supporting and funding projects developed by high school students. The program is run by undergraduate students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and sponsored by technology companies and educational organizations. THINK project proposals are science and engineering ideas that span many fields from green technologies and practical devices to software applications. Almost anything is fair game as long as it can be completed by an individual or team of 2 in the spring semester with a $2,000 budget. Winners also receive a $500- $1,000 scholarship and an all-expenses paid trip to MIT to meet and network with MIT professors and students. For more information, please visit the MIT THINK website.
Applying for the THINK Scholars Program is a simple process:

Description:

Description:
In 1898, Guy M. Wilson enlisted for service in the Spanish American War. At the close of the conflict, he joined the Michigan National Guard where he quickly ascended to the rank of General. The Guy M. Wilson Scholarship was created in 1938 to honor and preserve the memory of a great soldier and gentleman who served as the Michigan American Legion’s second State Commander in 1920-21.

Description:
In 1984 Jewell Brewer established a trust fund and scholarship for Michigan’s most deserving students in memory of William D. Brewer, a member of the Harold Todd American Legion Post located in Detroit, Michigan. Each year the Michigan American Legion awards five students with the William D. and Jewell Scholarship to help continue their education and reach their professional goals.

Live Mas Scholarship
Description:
The Taco Bell Foundation breaks down barriers to educate and inspire the next generation of leaders. Since 1992, the Taco Bell Foundation has reached more than 5 million young people across the country and has awarded more than $188 million in Live Más Scholarships and grants to youth-serving nonprofit organizations focused on education and career readiness.
Eligibility:
The Live Más Scholarship Program is open only to individuals who meet all of the following criteria:
Applicant must be a legal resident of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia (“D.C.”) located within the United States or D.C., or the dependent child of an active duty member of the U.S. military, who is at least 16 years of age and no older than 26 years of age
Applicant must be currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational program located in the United States or D.C. (including accredited two- and four-year colleges, universities, vocational-technical, and trade schools) and in good academic standing.
Applicant must be willing to work with the Taco Bell Foundation’s Scholarship Management Company throughout the application and award process.

Description:
Every year, the Helen Diller Family Foundation awards up to 15 Jewish teens with $36,000 each for their leadership efforts to change the world. From the environment to social justice to access to education and beyond, these young people are tackling big challenges in their communities and having tremendous impact.
To qualify, applications should:
Focus on a single project or initiative led by the applicant
Demonstrate that the applicant has made a significant and impactful contribution in a leadership role, either in initial project creation or over time
Show the project’s measurable impact
Provide a clear articulation of an issue area, geographic region, and community that the project serves
The project can serve the Jewish community or the broader community

Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship
Description:
The Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is a highly selective scholarship for the nation’s top community college students seeking to complete their bachelor’s degrees at four-year colleges or universities. Each Cooke Scholar has access to generous financial support for two to three years, college planning support, ongoing advising, and the opportunity to connect with the thriving community of fellow Scholars.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, at a minimum, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Sophomore Status – Be a current student at an accredited U.S. community college or two-year institution with sophomore status by January 1, 2023, or a recent graduate (since spring 2018).
Fall College Enrollment– Plan to enroll full-time in a baccalaureate program at an accredited college or university in fall 2023.
GPA– Have a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.50 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).
Demonstrate unmet financial need –We will consider applicants with a maximum annual gross income of $95,000. During the selection process, the Foundation will conduct a full financial review which will take into account all income and assets of the student and the student’s parents.
No previous enrollment or attendance at a four-year institution – Students who have attended a four-year institution in the past are not eligible for this scholarship.
If you started at a four-year institution, but did not complete a semester of full-time study, then you may be eligible. Please contact us to verify your eligibility.
Students who have already transferred to a four-year institution or plan to transfer to start during the spring 2023 semester are also not eligible for this scholarship.

The Sacks for CF Scholarship
Description:
The Sacks for CF Scholarship is related to quarterback sacks made during the NFL season. For every sack recorded during NFL Monday Night Football games, the Sacks for CF Scholarship Program receives a donation from a Boomer Esiason Foundation corporate partner. Sacks for CF funds are awarded annually to 30 college students, based on their academic achievements and adherence to daily CF therapy. “Sacks for CF” means money in the bank for college students who have cystic fibrosis.
Eligibility:
The undergraduate and graduate award is made annually to 30 people who strive for therapy adherence and academic success. Applicants are required to provide all of the following documents in order to be considered:

AAMI Foundation Michael J. Miller Scholarship
Description:
Applicants must demonstrate a combination of technical aptitude, academic excellence, and commitment to the healthcare technology profession. To document these attributes, applicants are required to submit a short essay (500-700 words) explaining how they view themselves fitting into the profession and describing their evidence of academic excellence and the other skills mentioned above.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be entering or current full-time college students seeking a career in the healthcare technology profession at an accredited college or university.

Description:
The Independent Hardee’s Franchisee Association (IHFA) has established a scholarship program to assist employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Description:
The Society for Classical Studies (SCS) invites undergraduate students from historically underrepresented groups in North America to apply for scholarships for Summer 2025. These scholarships support students' study of classics or classical archaeology through opportunities such as summer programs, field schools, or language training. Proposals can also include public engagement projects through the Ancient World, Modern Communities program. Since 1994, the SCS has awarded the Minority Scholarship in Classics and Classical Archaeology, offering at least two scholarships annually since 2010.
Requirements:
A letter describing your career goals and plans for summer 2025, with a prioritized list of programs to which you will apply. How would the proposed program help you achieve your future goals? Description:
The Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation was established by Congress in 1986 to serve as a living memorial to honor the lifetime work of Senator Barry Goldwater, who served his country for 56 years as a soldier and statesman, including 30 years in the U.S. Senate. By providing scholarships to college sophomores and juniors who intend to pursue research careers in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering, the Goldwater Foundation is helping ensure that the U.S. is producing the number of highly-qualified professionals the Nation needs in these critical fields.

be a full-time matriculated sophomore or junior pursuing a degree at an accredited 2- or 4-year institution of higher education during the 2024 - 2025 academic year,

Baer Reintegration Scholarship
Description:
The goal of the Baer Reintegration Scholarship is to help people with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder or bipolar disorder acquire the skills necessary to reintegrate into society, secure jobs, and regain their lives. The program is designed to offer financial assistance for a wide range of educational opportunities in which students work to attain a certificate or degree from an accredited institution.

Description:
The PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation promotes education and leadership among Greek American students, supporting their academic journey through scholarships. The Student Excellence in Archaeology Scholarship (SEAS)
Description:
The Historically Underrecognized Student Archaeology Scholarships, established in 2010, aim to support underrepresented minorities pursuing degrees in archaeology. These scholarships promote diversity in the field, addressing imbalances in research and communication with diverse communities. The fund offers competitive scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students, covering expenses like tuition, travel, and supplies, with awards of up to $3,000. Michigan Council of Women in Technology Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Description:
The Michigan Council of Women in Technology (MCWT) provides scholarships to women pursuing careers in computer science, aiming to foster a diverse tech industry in Michigan. Scholarships range from $2,000 to $5,000, with mentorship and internship support. Funded through a network of partner companies, the program has awarded $1.9 million since 2002, empowering 407 women. ExploraVision Awards
Description:
The ExploraVision competition for K-12 students engages the next generation in real world problem solving with a strong emphasis on STEM. ExploraVision challenges students envision and communicate new technology 10 or more years in the future through collaborative brainstorming and research of current science and technology.
ExploraVision is a science competition that goes beyond the typical student science competition and into what it takes to bring ideas to reality. A teacher will sponsor and lead his/her students as they work in groups of 2 – 4 to simulate real research and development. A teacher will guide his or her students as they pick a current technology, research it, envision what it might look like in 10 or more years, and describe the development steps, pros & cons, and obstacles. Past winners have envisioned technologies ranging from a hand-held food allergen detector to a new device to help people who have lost limbs regain movement in real time.

All projects must meet the following requirements:
All entrants must be United States or Canadian citizens and living within the United States, U.S. Territories or Canada and enrolled full-time in a public, private or homeschool
Students must be no older than 21 years of age
National Science Teachers Association employees, NSTA board members, ExploraVision judges and their respective families are not eligible to enter the competition
Any project that has won at ExploraVision’s regional and/or national levels may not be re-submitted in future years
Any project previously awarded a prize in another competition may not be submitted
Any student who was selected as a regional or national finalist in ExploraVision can only compete in subsequent years with a new team — i.e., with students who have not previously been selected as ExploraVision regional or national finalists
Students enter as a team of 2-4 students with a teacher/coach and optional mentor (no individual entries)

Union Plus Scholarship Program
Description:
Since 1991, the Union Plus Scholarship Program has awarded more than $5.2 million to students of working families who want to begin or continue their post-secondary education. More than 3,600 families have benefited from our commitment to higher education.
The Union Plus Scholarship Program is offered through the Union Plus Education Foundation, supported in part by contributions from the provider of the Union Plus Credit Card. (You do not need to be a Union Plus Credit Card holder to apply for this scholarship.)
Eligibility:
Eligible applicants include current and retired members of participating unions, their spouses, and dependent children (as defined by IRS regulations).
At least one year of continuous union membership is required from the applicant, their spouse, or parent (if the applicant is a dependent).

Society of Women Engineers Collegiate/Graduate Scholarships
Description:
The SWE Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to those who identify as a woman and are studying community college, baccalaureate, or graduate programs in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and fields related to engineering. In 2024, SWE awarded nearly 328 new and renewed scholarships valued at nearly $1,500,000!
Eligibility:
Open to undergraduates entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year or pursuing graduate studies in Fall 2025
Only candidates who identify as a woman
Undergraduate/community college applicants must be planning to study an ABET-accredited program in engineering, technology, or computing in the upcoming academic year
Masters and PhD candidates must be enrolled or accepted at a school with ABET-accredited programs in engineering, computing, or technology.
You must be planning to attend full time (exceptions are made for reentry and non-traditional applicants)
You must not be fully funded for tuition, fees, and books or equivalent
Transcripts must be in English
Award: $1,000-$19,000
